Note

Sup guys.
Last time I wrote anything here I was chuckin' a little tanty.
That's not cricket, so I better make amends.
Last year was without a doubt the worst year of my orienteering career. Achilles problems almost all year, which took weeks to calm down, illness and real fatigue from losing any work-life balance. Then at the 25-manna kort I (somewhat prophetically after TQ said he never does well after 25-manna) split my knee open on a rock, to the point where I could've seen the bone if it weren't bleeding so much. after taking six weeks to recover from that, I sprained my ankle after more than two years sprain free. It really ticked me off.
After having another couple of months off I've had a think, and put a plan together. Even though I want to quit altogether at the moment with everything, some of my best feelings last year were spent at competitions (Tio, venice, WUOC and JWOC sprint were big highlights). But I don't want to go to events half baked, and have bad runs anymore.
The only way I can see to get what I want is to spend more time doing training that makes me stronger, and takes pressure off the more fragile parts of my body. I want to be able to say that I gave my all to orienteering, and I want to do well at the tough races, not the easy ones.
I've pulled out of the high performance group for the year, and I'm looking at doing much more cycling, swimming and some yoga until I start to feel like an athlete again. I don't know what races I want to attend, but I might see if I can feel ok for Tio in Gberg. Other than that I'm not making any commitments to orienteering this year.

So yeah might see you sometime.
