orienteering race 1:31:50 [5]**** 11.8 km (7:47 / km) +280m 6:57 / km
spiked:17/18c shoes: VJ intergrator
really put it in for this long distance at QBII (not III). i was really glad to finally work out how to mentally approach a long. wow that goldmining was tough, but the low vis casuarina and slightly abnormal spur gully was just as tricky i recon. one bad route choice (number 6), went right to the north and along the road. would have been ok had a run faster. one mistake, probably a minute or so lost. what was the expected winning time does anyone know?
great course, cool, good fitness, focused well. now its a restup week while i hurriedly fail my tests and final assignments.

so dissapointed... how am i supposed to expect myself to do < 7 minutes error in sweden if i cant do that when :
im still living at home
not infected by europe germs
havent been training for a week prior to the event.
understand what im looking at/for

lessons learnt:
trying is the first step to failure
adapt pace during course
dont help out with cake stalls before your race cos youll forget what the time is
buy new ankle ligaments

cant decide on what shoes to take/wear for the sprint. should i wear track shoes and strap? or track shoes and not strap.
or by some real runners (not like my gay nikes)
gaaaah.
oh and if your on the team i bought us a big flag and 2 little ones, but im not taking falgpoles. pretty cool huh
