Cockies training, I did four controls. Which was basically run down and find control and then hill interval back up. It felt like a very big hill by the fourth.

Adventure Race (AROC) 4:20:00 [3]

AROC race in Cattai NP with Kye and Reg. Super fun, though I got very sunburnt.

We started paddling and were dead last about 500m in and then worked it out and paddled ok, but definately got stuck in the mishmash at the back.
Reg then orienteered awesomely and I think we made up lots of places though had a small problem with one termite mound. And we paddled back half way and then rogained on a big topo map. I had trouble with number 2 we went up to the road but then had to bash back down and i couldnt work out which gully we were meant to be in. Then biked, a bit slow becuase the map board was slipping and the tracks were very tiny on the map so I couldnt really read and ride at the same time. Raced some boys at the end of the bike and won. Then we did the bonus, bashed through some more lantana and then paddeled back to finish. Very fun and I got a great new icebreaker!

Nice run around yarralumla bays. Couldnt be bothered reading the map and that meant to often went funny ways and didnt know where to go next once I got to a control.

I was so incredibly sore from pump on friday it hurt to move my legs even after warm up and stretching. Need to remember not to start weights two days before I run a race, though I didnt really care about this one. I ran with the same guy the whole way, yellow shoes guy, and passed him just at the end :) It was fun, great watermelon at the end.

Andy's 5 hills. Lots of pain in the legs and felt like I was crawling today. 10 -15 sec slower for all of them compared to last time I did it. I think I'm still tired from Qld and my long run on the weekend. I am also going through a big patch of cbfness. Good time of year for it, especially because of the maggies.

I ran the run leg of the upper murray challenge. It was over a massive mountain and I felt so shite in the first 7k just getting to the bottom of the mountain. Some how once I reached the top (mostly walked it was so steep) I started to feel better and ran quite well down the hill and to about 5k from the finish. At about 4k the was a hill and it was just a gentle incline but I was totally stuffed and it was very very hard to get up that hill. Awesome views of the snowys and worth it for the whole pizza I ate for dinner.

Back from Qld races. I was happy with how I was running when I was running well, I guess everyone is happy with that... I need to stop making mistakes. In Qld I tended to get really close to the control and then run around like an idiot trying to find it. A great example was our drinks control on saturday, knew exactly where I was then I hit the creek the control was in and just checked everything that looked like an earth wall took ages and ages to find the control.
Also really sad I missed the relay, would have been fun and sounds like an awesome day of orienteering with all the close finishes.
