Sunday Feb 24

paddle 1:10:00 [3] 9.75 km (7:11 / km)
shoes: Lavender Endorfinn
Rolled up to an early afternoon paddle at East Perth to have Evo pull into the carpark right behind me, so paddled together. Was good coz it made me work a bit harder than I would have. Played with the rudder a bit, but haven't done anything about the vibration yet.

Saturday Feb 23

run warm up/down 10:56 [2] 2.05 km (5:20 / km)
shoes: Nike Equalon
That's how long Craig says it was - his GPS is probably more accurate than me guessing. Did a few mickey mouse run throughs as well... Felt much better for it than last week's race...
run race (Metro Series Kings Park) 34:45 [3] 8 km (4:21 / km) vdot: 46.5
shoes: Nike Equalon
Glad that I felt better running than I had felt doing bugger all this morning. Started with a great route through the first 8 controls - then it dawned on me there was no efficient way to get back with only 20... Crap. Lost about a minute on Hale oval by reading the description for 13 when looking for control 3, then leaving that control flustered and in the wrong direction...
Would have had a good route for getting 22-23 controls. Pity I only needed 20. Craig flogged me, but everyone else seemed to stuff it up too, except for Tooms. Running wise I felt lke I actually held a sold pace today, so was much happier than last week.

NOTE: My measuring may be a little rough, but the approx distance compared to Craig tells a pretty woeful tale

Friday Feb 22

cycle 56:41 [3] 29.23 km (1:56 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade
Ride into school. Bit slow to start. Got better as I went. Could have done with the full finger gloves this morning...
cycle (commute) 1:03:11 [3] 29.24 km (2:10 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade
Hooray for safety dropouts. Have had trouble with a noisy front wheel for a couple of weeks, but it seemed to be unusually bad this arvo. Turns out the wheel release lever was open and it was only being held in by the safety drop-outs - including when I had to bunnyhop off a kerb obto the road to avoid another cyclist... could have been so messy but wasn't.

Note
(sick)
Caught a cold off the girls, so have ben out of action the last few days. Not serious enough to take day off work, but too much to train. Will be back into it tomorrow.

Monday Feb 18

cycle (commute) 56:53 [3] 29.17 km (1:57 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade
Ride to school. Nothing special. Need new bike lights. Bit dark...
cycle (commute) 1:04:11 [3] 29.35 km (2:11 / km)
shoes: Avanti Blade
Pretty strong seabreeze today. Appreciated the drop in temperature, but it was pretty hard work.
