A fine day in the mountains with Lucas doing the Asulkan Ridge traverse. We started by climbing the Abbott Ridge trail (which I have never done and definitely should have), Abbott Peak, Afton Peak, The Rampart, the Dome, Sapphire Col, Mt Jupiter, Asulkan Pass and out via the Asulkan Creek trail.

A few sections of technical climbing that had me on the edge of my comfort zone. The 4th class ridge up Afton seemed the worst probably because it was early on. The crux is supposed to the be 5.4 move on the Dome - this seemed fine. Some aesthetic ridge traversing after the summit of the Dome required me to straddle the ridge "au cheval". The rest of the route is mainly ridge traversing on good rock with lots of ice surrounding you - super scenic.

Had a good walk/jog out the Asulkan trail. I felt tired in the morning but pretty energetic on the way out. We even surprised a couple female hikers who were walking down the trail topless. Courtney tells me that this is supposedly popular to do now?

9:15 car the car - we travelled light with no crampons (no issue) and never used the rope.
