Bike 1:40:00 [3] 20.5 km (12.3 kph) +400m

Day one of my yearly South Chilcotin adventure. Brett and Jeff joined me - so nice to have a couple adventure partners who "get" the Chilcotins and appreciate them as much as I do. Very evenly matched on this trip in terms of speed both up and down. Almost not waiting which was nice.

We drove from Revelstoke today and drove towards Relay leaving the car at the top of the climb after Tyaughton rec site. The old FSR turned into a doubletrack and eventually single track. Could have driven further but faster to bike and avoid the car shuttle afterwards.

Camped at a nice spot near the Relay horse camp. GPS track screwed up due to GPS crash partway.

Hike 30:00 [2] 3.0 km (10:00 / km) +100m 8:34 / km
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Some brisk hiking, jogging and even bushwhacking setting up the course for the event tomorrow. Pretty muggy out and the mosquitos have hatched with a vengeance.

Run 1:05:00 intensity: (25:00 @2) + (10:00 @3) + (30:00 @4) 13.0 km (5:00 / km) +50m 4:54 / km
ahr:134 max:175 shoes: Brooks Ghost

Some tempo work on the pave greenbelt path. 3km w/u, 3/2/1/ tempo with 1 km in between. 2km c/d. Was anywhere between 4:10-4:27 for the km. Definitely not fast but that is why I am doing these. Can't expect much with no real run training for two years.

Swim 1:00:00 [3] 2.2 km (27:16 / km)

Masters swimming with Courtney. Felt like I had a bonk close to the end - kind of weird.

Bike 2:00:00 [3] 25.0 km (12.5 kph) +700m

Big Easy and Crowbar lap from home with Brett. Felt hot despite just being a bit over 20 degrees. I guess the recent 15 degree weather has de-acclimatized us from the heat. Climbing up Big Easy was a lot easier when dry (though still tough). Felt tired most of the day. Just feeling run down lately. Fun ride down Crowbar though the last bit was a bit rowdy reminding me why I usually take the cheater exit.
