Bike 2:15:00 [3] 26.0 km (11.6 kph) +650m

Riding with Adam. Was going to ride the parkway but a little drizzly and cloudy so went mountain biking instead. Up Flowdown with a couple loops on the moto trail. Ridden in the right direction the climbs are quite doable. The upper loop has been seeing some traffic with a couple bridges built over swampy bits. Always a surprise how far over the trail goes.

Run tempo 49:00 [3] 9.5 km (5:09 / km)
shoes: Brooks Ghost

Pounding the pavement... short warm up then 3km tempo, 1km rest and 2 km tempo. Pace was 4:20 to 4:30 but hard for me to go any faster. Depressingly slow...

Bike 1:30:00 [2] 13.0 km (8.7 kph) +475m

Mountain biking at MacPherson with Courtney. Legs felt really tired from yesterdays effort. I don't recover as quickly anymore... Did some trails backwards from our usual routes just to mix it up. The climb up to backside is really tough and Lookout works a lot better as a climb. It is very dry out there - some spots are rock hard while others are super loose. Bike felt bouncy - still riding the Epic as the other bike has not arrived.

Quick pre-work ride on Airport Way. Haven't been on my road bike since Robb's Ride... A couple tempo sections on the 10km TT route.

Bike 4:00:00 [3] 47.0 km (11.7 kph) +1400m

Larch Hills traverse backwards with Courtney, Atsuko, Rich, Jaelyn, Tom S, Russ and Vikki. We started at the bottom of 112 road which allowed for a 30 min warm up spin on the old Sicamous road. This worked out pretty nicely. The weather was cooler today with a lot of smoke - not a bad day for this ride as there isn't much water on it and although the views are nice it isn't the main reason to ride it. Really enjoyed the first two single track sections. The raspberry hill climb was a grunt as usual. Some of the cutblock sections are getting pretty overgrown - best to bring arm protection next time. Looks like more trail is being built right above the switchbacks. A few people joined me to check out upper superman again - had only done this once before. The ride across on Thicket has one hike a bike around the swamp but otherwise rideable and the upper section is fun. Ride back on the hwy was noisy due to heavy traffic but was over pretty quick. Good day...
