Paddle 1:30:00 [2] 12.0 km (8.0 kph)

Downriver paddle from the boat launch to the Cartier TH. Current was decent - variable winds though. I was warmer than expected especially when the sun would come out. Fresh snow on the peaks is getting me excited for ski season. Too bad it is usually still several weeks away... going to have to kill some time biking in warmer climates;)

Nice run with Courtney on the Toaster trails then up to the ski jump. To cap things off we bushwhacked up to the Parkway and went down the Summit trail.

Bike 2:00:00 [2] 23.0 km (11.5 kph) +750m

Beautiful ride on Frisby with Courtney. Such a nice fall day with very vibrant colours and warmer in the alpine than I expected. The trail was dry on the climb but the shaded spots in the alpine were holding moisture so didn't go all the way to the lake. The lack of punchy sections and smooth flow on the way down were a nice contrast to the riding I had just done in Victoria. Variety is the spice of life I guess:)

Bike 3:00:00 [3] 23.0 km (7.7 kph) +1000m

Good exploratory ride on Mt Work checking out a few trails I had never done on the backside. The climb up the switchback trail was a lot easier than I remembered (dry conditions really help) and hitting sidewinder in the direction I did works better. Breathless was a tough climb but all rideable to the junction with Mons (I did dab a few times). I thought it might be a hike a bike so this was a nice surprise. Great view from top and the n a really nice descent down. Typical Hartland riding - I wouldn't call it flowy but lots of interesting sections with rock and tech moves. Forgot the name of the next trail but it was pretty new and not well travelled which is too bad as it was worth riding. Raven Ridge was less good - too many trees encroaching and too many flow sucking sections. Cache took me across to Bubble Warp. I climbed the west entrance but the other side would be better. I forgot how much tech climbing there was on Bubble Wrap... legs were getting tired from all the power moves. I had ambitious plans to do a few trails on the Partridge Hills side but I was running out of time. These aren't fast trails due to the technical riding and I had covered way less terrain than expected. Instead of Partridge I climbed back up breathless and rode Grinder which was a little more technical than Mons (more sections that Courtney would walk). As usual once back in the actual hartland trails things got really confusing as there are too many trails there but figured my way out via Green Ribbon.
