Swim 1:00:00 [3] 2.25 km (26:40 / km)

Masters swimming.

Run 28:00 [3] 4.5 km (6:13 / km)
shoes: Montrail Rogue Racer

Short greenbelt run to take the dog for some exercise. Nice to still be able to run on the trails though the flip side is that no valley bottom snow is forecast for the next while so a little later start to the nordic season here.

Backcountry skiing (Coomback) 2:30:00 [2] 13.0 km (11:32 / km) +950m 8:27 / km

A bit of a longer day with Travis and Courtney than planned... started by driving to the Gorge but the 7km corner stymied us. At least 20cm of new snow there and no plow to be seen (might have pulled out or maybe hadn't been plowed yet). The vehicle in front of us made it but by packing down the snow made it very slick. Chains might have allowed us to make it but I still haven't gotten chains for this truck. Turned around and went to Corbin's. Less snow and coverage than in the Monashees. As the climb is mainly on a road the lower starting elevation was OK but we couldn't ski out the usual avy path descent due to low coverage. Definitely a bit of a walk today... a few turns on the way down here and there. To top it off I left my skis in the snowbank and didn't notice until I got home. I blame the trucker who was asking me about my truck as I was taking off my skis. An hour of extra driving to pick up the missing skis was not my favourite part of the day.

Interesting to check out the approach to Corbin's as I had never been. Would be an easy sled up to access the backside.

Backcountry skiing (Coomback) 2:00:00 [2] 7.0 km (17:09 / km) +850m 10:40 / km

First day of touring - always a bonus to get a November day in. Was out with Neil and Kevin Lavelle at the Gorge. Decent coverage and some nice dry new snow though the old crust was not buried deep enough to make it unnoticeable. Good to be out and only a few other parties out there today.

Bike 1:25:00 [3] 39.0 km (27.5 kph) +175m

Today was much drier so went out for a road ride on Airport Way. First time out on the Salsa with skinnier tires (35c). I felt a km or two an hour slower but otherwise a comfortable ride. Hands and feet stayed warm as I used my ski gloves and my nordic boot covers.

Hike 1:30:00 [1] 8.5 km (10:35 / km) +370m 8:42 / km

Rainy day so decided to head out for a hike to the Jordan Falls and then to the Big Eddy Bluff. Turns out that there is a trail along the river from the Boulder parking lot. We made it a loop by cutting through the forest to Man Quads.
