Run 1:02:00 [1] 10.25 km (6:03 / km) +50m 5:54 / km

Greenbelt run - legs were a bit sore from yesterday but seemed OK for an easy pace run. The snow is much more solid which helps the pace.

Strength 40:00 intensity: (20:00 @1) + (20:00 @4)

First crossfit class - fairly suited to my strengths so not too hard. WOD was 5 x 12 cal row/15 ring rows/15 wall balls with 2 min rest b/w each set. Actually was supposed to be pull ups but I adjusted to ring rows.

Classic ski 1:00:00 [3] 9.0 km (6:40 / km) +190m 6:02 / km

Slowish ski as legs were tired after crossfit.

Swim 1:00:00 [3] 2.7 km (22:13 / km)

Masters swimming with some interesting kick sets today. I hate kick sets so I wouldn't say it was my favorite work out. I find vertical flutter or dolphin (keeping head out of the water) ridiculously hard. RIght upper back was a little irritated as well.

Backcountry skiing (Roamr) 3:30:00 [3] 11.0 km (19:05 / km) +1300m 12:00 / km

Mt English with Stuart, Travis and Brook. Getting up there was an adventure today as very little sled traffic recently. That mean the trail was smooth but also meant that much more technical ride in trying to avoid getting stuck. Much snowier than I expected and it was very windy at treeline. We used a track further right than previous times and this worked well in avoiding the steeper slopes near the bottom. Last pitch was quite steep so not a perfect route. Skied a west facing run I had looked at last year - nice long run with interesting terrain. The track out of the valley went fine - thought there might be a crux getting through a cliff band but it wasn't an issue. Snow quality on the second run wasn't quite as good with wind pressed snow in many spots and then some old heli ski tracks. Also had to be cautious for wind slabs forming - kicked off a couple 0.5/1 slides on the steep pitch off the ridge. Took an ill advised detour through the cutblock with the sled on the way out and found a hole in some flat light. This required a 15 minutes digging session to get the sled out.

Backcountry skiing (Roamr) 3:30:00 [3] 13.0 km (16:09 / km) +1550m 10:07 / km

McGill with Stuart and Brendan. A handful of old tracks but found good snow in the northern gunbarrel. Took a few turns to get used to the snow conditions (and the different skis). About 20-30cm over a temperature crust. Climbed back up the climbers left side. Lots of wind lips to deal with. I think in the future I would climb directly to the left of the main path. Had good turns right to the summer trail and then a fun luge ride to the car. First trip to the pass this year. Despite the crowds still a great spot for skiing...
