Saturday Oct 3 #

2 PM

Bike 1:15:00 [2] 10.5 km (8.4 kph) +400m

MacPherson with Courtney and Milo. Nice day again but gets cool quickly when the sun disapears. Not surprising given the humidity is hitting close to 100% at night.
5 PM

Paddle 48:00 [3] 6.0 km (7.5 kph)

Quick paddle on the river. Current was pretty strong so a few out and backs near the shore. RIver current has changed quite a bit in the last few years. Nice sunset tonight.

Hike 4:45:00 [3] 17.7 km (16:06 / km) +1510m 11:17 / km
shoes: Columbia Outdry

Trying to take advantage of the nice weather - convinced Travis to join me for a hike to North Tilley Lakes and back. Pretty much the same route we did as an overnight trip with Brett and Suzanne three years ago. More snow here than at Keystone but manageable with only a few slips. Trails was quite muddy too (north facing). We missed the cleared traverse from the talus slope (it starts fairly high on the left) but our route was fine. Still as nice of a spot as I remembered. Stiff climb to the ridge then back along the ridge. Great day out.

12 PM

Bike 1:50:00 [2] 16.5 km (9.0 kph) +585m

Keystone with Courtney and Milo. It snowed in the alpine over the weekend but most of the solar aspects melted yesterday. Temperatures were quite pleasant and trail conditions were excellent. Such a spectacular day with nice fall colours and only one other person on the trail. Stopped at the high point as didn't want to tire Milo out too much. 15km seems like a good distance for him.

3 PM

Bike 1:00:00 [3] 10.0 km (10.0 kph) +335m

Up Flowdown and down Montgomery solo with the dog. Forgot how quickly it gets dark/chilly at this time of year.

Sunday Sep 27 #

11 AM

Paddle 1:10:00 intensity: (10:00 @1) + (20:00 @2) + (40:00 @3) 7.25 km (6.2 kph)

Columbia from the boat launch. Thought the current might be slow given it was Sunday but more flow than yesterday. Still attempted to paddle upstream and made it past Liz's house. A few sections where progress seemed only several inches per stroke.
