Macpherson with Courtney, Russ and Vikki. Snow has melted on the trails but ground is fairly frozen. Bike always feels a bit weird at these temperatures - didn't help that I had new brake pads that were not broken in. The slow bite was a bit disconcerting at times. Good ride though.

Morning run on the greenbelt with Milo. He was quite happy to be out after his day off yesterday. He was a little under the weather yesterday - spent most of Wednesday night licking his lips and occasionally dry heaving. I'm presuming the lip licking was due to nausea. I was feeling rather stiff and it felt hard to run with a relaxed stride. Low back is a little tight.

Had to make a trip to Vernon as our Golf had a major leak into the spare tire well. Turned out that the sunroof drain got plugged. Never buy a car with a sunroof...

Anyway had to kill some time so went for a long run at Predator Ridge/Ellison. Checked out some newer trails and also some old trails that I'd never been on. Conditions were great other than rocks being a little slick. Nice temperature and nice views. Felt pretty good - only started getting fatigued 3/4 of the way in which seemed about right as this was the longest run of the year.

I think this run took me over my highest yearly running mileage since I started logging on AP. Still have almost two months until the end of the year so will probably break 1000km. I can't say I feel fast but slow steady pace feels good for 1-1.5 hours and no injuries/pain from running.

Bike 1:10:00 [2] 10.0 km (8.6 kph) +360m

Lower Macpherson trails with Milo on the fatbike. Could have ridden the normal bike given that there wasn't much snow until the upper part of Quarry. The fat bike is fun in a novel way though and interesting to try and find the smoothest line. Could use wider bars (which is crazy considering they are something like 740mm) and hands start getting sore after an hour. For frequent singletrack use could see the benefit of a front fork. Ran into Neil and Mark and had a nice chat.

Cartier lookout with Courtney and Milo. Courtney is still recovering from her recent back pain and was hiking. The dog wanted to keep an eye on her so I would periodically loop back to her. No snow on the ground in this part of the valley.
