Training Log Archive: revy

A snowy day so the grooming that happened early in the morning was already covered with 5-10cm when I arrived and it kept snowing during the ski. I skied a bit with Milo then Courtney and Atsuko arrived. Not the best conditions for skate but I had been mainly on my classic skis lately so wanted to change it up.

Seemed like hard work this morning with 5 cm of new snow. Greenbelt with Milo.

Easy ride with Courtney and Milo. This was mainly to get Milo some exercise. I thought it might be rather soft but for the most part not bad. Definitely still found some slush though.

Several runs with Brook, Jordan and Keith. Decent tracked powder - found some acceptable stashes. Lines were busy but not crazy.

Mellow ski with the dog. Snow was starting to set up after a warm day (5 degrees) so pretty icy and poor grip.

Snow shovelling - now it has turned into slop.

This was mainly to get the dog some exercise as a storm meant challenging skiing conditions. Classic was the better choice as the grooming had happened earlier in the morning and was now covered by several cm of new snow. At least it was snowing (it was raining in town just 200m lower).

Should have gone touring yesterday but was tired after three busy days. About 20cm of fresh snow and another ten during the day. We wanted to avoid driving on the hwy so decided on the Fuzzy Knob. FL were probably 1100m today so snow was certainly dense lower down. We made it to top but lots of signs of instability at the bottom of the storm snow and within the storm snow. We skied a line further left and I ski cut a decent sized slab on the roll into the little gully (call it a 1.5). Snow was deep and a little upside down so not the easiest skiing. Called it a day after that descent.
