Fat bike ride with Courtney and Milo. The packed trails were in OK shape - made a poor choice to try and ride the section along the river south of the bridge and this was very soft and perhaps only recently groomed? Back slightly better...

Friday Mar 5, 2021 #

Swim session with Courtney and Margaret. I quickly decided to do my own thing as we had another swimmer in the lane and it seemed easier to swim with less stops. Did several hundred meters non-stop. Back didn't love using the kick board so ditched that quickly. Overall didn't feel amazing but didn't make things worse.

Taking Milo out for some exercise - I quickly realized that my bike seat bones are certainly in early season shape (meaning they were sore).

I figured that biking would be the most comfortable exercise as sitting was OK. Drove down to the airport to mix things up... warm temperature meant that a few spots were pretty soft (and hard work). Once I made it to the groomed trails conditions were better. Probably should have just started from town. Back did't cause too many issues the few times I had to walk the bike which was good.

Woke up this morning feeling a bit stiff and then proceeded to worsen over the course of a few hours this morning. Hard to stand straight which makes this feel a bit different than my back issue a year ago. There is something tight in my right hip so I am thinking the hip flexor is still contributing. Wanted to do some activity and we had planned to nordic ski. Staying active seemed like a good plan. I managed almost an hour but it wasn't the most comfortable ski. Did not aggravate things though.

Solo skate ski in the evening (finishing under the lights). Steady pace - skis felt like they should have been faster given the temperature.

Skate ski with Courtney and Milo. 6 km of regular skate, about 7-8km of no poles, and the rest double poling.
