Powerhouse Ridge with Courtney. Flat and downhill are rather unpleasant at the moment. Not sure what flared things up this week...

Morning ride with Courtney on the Crumpit Woods trails. I really enjoyed the ride - climbs were good XC and the decents were fun. The loop we did was more flowy than I remembered (though we did some newer trails). There are lots of junctions though which do require frequent map checks. Saw a mama bear with two cubs at the start of Endo which changed our planned route.

Hike 1:45:00 [3] 6.0 km (17:30 / km) +700m 11:03 / km

1st and 2nd peaks of the Chief. I've never actually climbed to the 2nd peak so nice to make it over there. The connection between the two has some vertical ladder sections. A bit of cloud as the weather changed.

Bike 2:00:00 [3] 16.0 km (8.0 kph) +700m

Met up with Annie and Eric. The latter took Russ and I on a tempo climb up Diamond Head and then down an unmapped trail called Squeezer. We then climbed over to Somewhere Over There. Lots of good black riding... Eric is a solid DH rider. Timed it perfectly and finished seconds after the girls.

Paddle 3:45:00 [3] 22.0 km (5.9 kph)

Yesterday we made a plan as a group for our paddle today. The forecast followed the script which was nice... our crossing to Anvil was dead calm and then we had some wind once we rounded the island. There was 3-4 km of paddling into the wind before we turned back north. The run back to Porteau had some decent waves to try and catch. As always I'm surprised at how stable my boat is in these conditions.
