snow shoeing 40:00 [3]

climbed up blue mountain via happy valley. Good hike. Ran a few sections (tower on, then tower off). Good workout. Fun going down. Easy pace outside of the interval stuff.

Cycling 1:20:00 [4]

road ride collingwood. climbed scenic caves road. step and tough without warmup made it even tougher! Down back side to Ravena and then blew a blade spoke cruising on the flats...headed back along Hwy 26. Felt it on the climbs and lacked the pop I wanted. Was good on the flats. Spokes keep blowing like crazy on both front and rear kyserium sl rims. Weird. Stupid strong wind most of the ride. Wanted my kite instead.

Note

Skied with JMac at Blue Mountain 930-11 am. Good snow, got a lot of runs in. Sweet skiing. Used Yvonne's boards. I bit soft, but good overall. Tough to really open up on, but I managed.

30 min. windy but nice. cold and sunny.

full rally loop with hans. 10 min warmup included. Ron Lowery hill at end. Kept it 2-3 out of 5 effort. Maybe 1 min of 4 effort on Ron Lowery hill.

shoulders and biceps. Threw some abs in for good measure at the end. Blasted the shoulders and bis pretty hard. Good to be back.

Nice day outside but wasn't feeling the greatest so rode indoors. Fighting a little cold I think. No blasting today.

1:30 on rollers. did two Z4 repeats at 20 min each. Rest of time was Z2. Then went out on the road and did a loop around the GFday course with my Dad. Went pretty easy Z1 Z2 but got some good Z3 Z4 on Sydenham hill. 1:40 on the road. Cold and damp.
Felt pretty good climbing.

shoes: Salomon XA Pro's 2006

muddy or icy. those were the options. tasted sweat for the first time in month. ran a modified rally loop and then two full flights of chedoke stairs with two lower flights. 1 hour approx. zone 2-3, and 4 on stairs. happy time for me and the jbird, who ran quite well for record.

Note

quick pasta blast and then time to grow the biceps and shoulders so that I can one hand shoulder press dr. hammer when I'm in the deepest parts of the fen. Think figure skating styles. Oh yeah.

blasted the mitochondria out of my back and abs. Solid workout. Training hard to carry Hammer sherpa styles around bogs, fens, peatlands and other soggy places this summer.

rrrrrrrrrrrrrolers. Watching 2006 tour dvd during. Made me forget I was riding inside. It's on the Landis stage where he destroys everyone while drinking from his spiked/sabotaged water bottle.

Easy running cruise through NY. Ran from lower manhattan to the north end of central park. Did a loop in the park, and then ran back down the west hwy. Decent run. Lots of snow on ground made it kind of slippery. Pavement pounded me. Calves sore afterwards.

played a pick-up game with Jackie's crew. Pretty intense, especially after the long run. My calves were pretty tight. Totally zonked by the end of it. Played alright.

my chest is starting to get nervous. It knows that I'm going to be physically abusing it in 43 minutes.
My shoulders are pretty excited though.

It is blast time. I plan to reenact the movie 300 on my chest. My chest will become glorious like Sparta, while my shoulders will dominate like the Persian hordes. I just hope that my bones don't break under the massive load.

usual but warmer = me arriving at school more sweaty than normal. Not attractive. Ride home raining = wetter than normal. Even less attractive.

Obviously destroyed the chest. Threw abs in for good measure and worked them hard. A lesser man would have cried out in pain and stopped, but I just kept at it and distracted myself by plucking nose hairs. Shoulders got a blasting as well.

Cycling 1:25:00 [3]

zone 2 spin, 90-100 rpm. Rode indoors. Leave for New York tomorrow morning.

cruise on trails and road in London ON. Ran with GM. Rocked Warbler a few times. Always depressing to see how much the subdivision has encroached on this great patch of woods, winter is good for that. Had it all: road, deep snow, slush, and packed trail. Great sun. Warm.

stellar session. Chest, shoulders, abs, lb, tris. Blast city. Blew the chest up early and survived the shoulder press barely. Abs were good, LB was good, and tris were recovered for a good pump.

nice easy tnt cruise with tvp, sprwes2000, and jbird. stairs for good measure. tricky footing on icy trails. greta was a champ. arrived early for once.

cruise to and from school. Nice and cold. New snow made for slush. Nice, salty, delicious slush.

back to the daily grind. Commute was super cold. Low wind made it bearable. Days getting longer which is nice too.

did the "skate" trails at albion. Brutal conditions with an ice crust. Apparently the - - - black trail was the skateable one. Didn't find that out until Monday though. Basically double polled the entire red, green and yellow loops. Ran out of time for the blue. lamo, I'm going to hardwood next time.

Got two runs in while in Oman. Both on dirt roads and fairly flat. Both ~1 hr each. Did some sand dune running (hills) which was fun, but not really focused training.

walking (sur lagoon, oman) 25:00:00 [3]

walked over 50 km worth of transects in the sur lagoon at all tidal levels, from dry to chest deep. Walked thick muds too. Solid workout. More of a strength exercise. Took about 4 days to knock it all off. Got my miles in for Oman.

Note

that's right, the 27:00 hour day. Get used to it.
