Running long 1:57:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Pivot
Cracking longun with Gracie. Parked up at Corin Dam and just winged it. Found some pink tapes leading up a spur on a little track. Hit the ridge and followed it to a peak but dead misty so couldn't see much. Turned around a little after an hour. Ran some bits quite hard. Felt good. Will have to look at a map to see where we went. Must be some other good runs in Namadgi that not many people know about.

Saturday Jan 19

Note
(rest day)
Busy day at the runners shop.

Friday Jan 18

Note
(rest day)
Mapping all day, which is training in that it probably makes me a better orienteer and makes me tired.

Thursday Jan 17

Running long 1:42:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Pivot
Good long run with plenty of hills in nice, sunny, but not too hot weather with a bit of a breeze. Perfect. Topped up my tan nicely. Ran round Farrer Ridge, Isaac Ridge (which would make an ace orienteering area especially with the probably private bit to the north towards Mugga added on), Wanniassa, Farrer Ridge and a final 'burst' up Mt Taylor by which time I was very thirsty and tired.

Orienteering race (ANU) 26:30 [4]
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Pivot
Stiff as and thirsty for the whole thing. Plus I had to draw (with a crap pen) my course on a map with a different course on and it was twisty and turny anyway, so I couldn't see very easy where I was meant to be going next which is kinda important in a sprint, and still had to pay $10 for the priveledge which is steep IMO. And I had to stop half way round for a crap which took a while as finding a suitable spot in a uni campus isn't that easy. Excuses over. It was fun and I ran quite hard.

Tuesday Jan 15

Running intervals 22:30 [5]
shoes: Nike Air Zoom Vomero +2
5x1km (off 4.30mins) down at the XC track again. Morning session this time, but still baking, so I thought I'd give the watching magpies a treat and run topless. My legs were rather heavy and I struggled to get going, but I pushed hard so it was a good session. Opted out of my optional 6th rep. I reckon the 1km loop is slower than the 1.5km loop. 3.14, 3.11, 3.12, 3.13, 3.14.

A 2.5km lap before and a 2.5km lap after.
Running 42:00 [2]
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Pivot
Evening recovery run at Stromlo while Gracie did her rep sesh. I ran to the top of the mountain and was afforded with some remarkable views. Ran on a few downhill bike trails, which meant I was more scared of getting mown down than bit by a snake, which was nice.

Monday Jan 14

Running 1:07:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Pivot
I ran round Aranda, up Mt Painter and around the Pinnacle. It was positively chilly this morning and didn't even hit 20C.
Running 35:00 [2]
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Pivot
Did a lap of the Pinnacle with Gracie in the evening. Interestingly, I had run on all of these paths in the morning, but this time I did it the other way round which meant that everything that was uphill last time was downhill this time, which was nice.
