Orienteering race (Interland) 1:17:44 [5]
shoes: jalas o-shoes

Nice and fast terrain, but 15km up against some big boys meant there was no letting up. Didn't lose much time except for when I dropped my map in the butterflies. I've never been so blatantly followed as I was by Frank Buytaert today - I wasn't impressed at all. He followed me every step of the way from 11 to the end and it was really annoying. He must've liked the view of my ass. Ah well. I was happy with my time as GG and Fabi were flying today. Really enjoyed doing 2 hours of orienteering as fast as I could this weekend - cracking training.

Event: Interland

Orienteering race (JOK Prologue) 18:40 [5]
shoes: jalas o-shoes

Bit nervous going into this one due to the vast numbers of fast juniors that I had to beat. Nice little area with plenty going on to keep you thinking. Would've been simple at normal race pace, but the chasing start format meant I was going out of my comfort zone so things were a bit harder. Missed numbers 2 and 6 slightly, but fine other than that. Didn't feel great, but pushed really hard. Luckily for me, Kris Jones lost time on the final control, so I had a 32sec lead going into the final.

Had a huge posse of kids (and Duncan) hunting me down, so I was a bit scared. Tried to set out hard so that they wouldn't get onto my back. Seemed to work well enough and I got enough of a lead to be safe. Good job too, as I was dying at the end and wouldn't have been up for a sprint. Pleased with my time considering the guys behind were racing head to head. Cracking race and well worth the 5.30am start, especially with Gracie winning as well!

Running 1:06:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trabuco

Got in a run in the light :o) Out on woods alongside ring road, through Moortown golf course, Alwoodley Lane, trig point on Stair Foot Lane (the one I nearly got to on Tuesday), wiggled through Adel Woods (with the o-map - some nice bits, should get out here more often), across ring-road, up to Tunnel How Hill trig point (red) and back wiggling through quiet suburbian roads. Nice run all told. 2 trigs (1 new one). Started off with legs feeling a bit tired, but felt pretty good by the end.

Note
(rest day)

I am invincible to colds. Haven't had one since Oct 07. I might be fighting one cos my legs are still achey so I'm gonna rest, but I'm not ill.

Running intervals 11:00 [4]
shoes: New Balance 1024 - 2nd pair

3x3mins on roads up King Lane to Alwoodley. Legs got very heavy at this point and I'd been feeling slightly run down all day so I bailed (within a few hundred metres of another trig point). Gracie's got a cold so thought probably best not to knacker myself out.

Running 38:00 [3]
shoes: New Balance 1024 - 2nd pair

Unfortunately it was still a 27minute run back home. Time includes the 11mins before intervals.
