Orienteering race (Easter Day 1) 36:47 [5] 7.0 km (5:15 / km)
Came 1st. Fortunately Simon took one for the team today and planned it, which meant both a great challenging course as well as opening the door for someone else to win. First half was quite straightforward technically but quite hilly and very fast underfoot. I went out conservatively as I thought I might blow up later otherwise. Passed Larry at #9 before heading through the spectator hearing I was winning. 2nd half of the course was really fun ducking and diving in and out of steep erosion gullies. Also quite tiring, so glad I had some reserves from the gentle 1st half. #15 was a bit scary crossing flat nothingness for a bit, but there were enough distinctive shapes at the other side to quickly pick up where I'd come out. Finished up with basically no mistakes, which was nice.
