Running 1:11:00 [3] 12.5 km (5:41 / km) +420m 4:52 / km

Lovely run from the caravan park in Blackheath, down Popes Glen to Govett's Leap, along the cliff tops to Evans Lookout, then back up the Braeside Walk.

Running 34:00 [3] 7.0 km (4:51 / km)

Lunchtime run up Red Hill. Overcast but warm. Felt alright.

Running 53:00 [3] 11.0 km (4:49 / km)

HFW with Tomas most of the way. Didn't bring up the possibility of intervals, and he didn't suggest it either, so that was a relief.

Note
(rest day)

Was going to run at lunch, but left my kit in the car which I then leant to Dad.

Running 16:40 [5] 5.0 km (3:20 / km)

5x1km in ~3.20, which I was pleasantly pleased with given I felt rubbish and tried not to kill myself. Actually the 4th rep was nearly 4mins as the wheels came off a bit and I stopped to watch some fishermen who'd caught a swan.

Running 22:00 [2] 4.2 km (5:14 / km)

2.1km at the start and 1.3km at the end (it was the East Basin loop) plus some walk/jogs for 1:10mins between reps.

Orienteering 34:00 [3] 5.5 km (6:11 / km)

Tried out my Red 1 for the upcoming ACT Middle Champs at Honeysuckle. Good to do some orienteering above plod-speed for once. Really good fun - tricky and lots of variety. Think I was pretty successful at avoiding anything too nasty. Glad the course length seems about right - I wasn't gunning it but of course I knew the course and all the control sites quite well so that would've help a lot.

I'm pretty proud of this course - should be a cracker to actually race on. Hopefully a good number of Canberrans will travel down only 20mins past Tuggers for some fantastic terrain and a timely NIN3Days warm-up....

Orienteering 29:00 [3] 5.0 km (5:48 / km)

Checking about 1/3 of the sites (John and Ann did the rest). Every single tape I checked was still there from when Rob J and I taped it a year ago - a reminder of the difference between orienteering in the Australian bush to the UK.

Running 45:00 [3] 8.4 km (5:21 / km)

2x Mt Taylor on steep S and steep W paths. Felt alright - was going to do a 3rd ascent but couldn't be bothered.
