Orienteering race (State League - The Gib) 1:13:03 [4] 10.4 km (7:01 / km) +600m 5:27 / km

Came 3rd, 1min behind Doyley but nearly 8mins behind Fredo. Tough course planned by Barnett with the first part being an intense control pick going up and down the steep rocky slope. Felt tired and a bit slow but mainly flowing ok for the most part - although two costly mistakes of ~45secs at the start (#2) and end (#18) of the intense section - both in the circle but hadn't really pictured what I was looking for. Enjoyed the course opening up a bit with the long legs but got a bit sloppy in the circle and lost fight over the final few controls (30secs on #22, poor route to #23 and 30secs on #25). Still, some fairly encouraging signs and glad to still be in one piece at the end.

Fun course on a new map - lots of twists and turns. Not too many traps though so it all came down to being smooth. Had a pretty clean run but for a really silly mistake at #4 where I got put off by Paul (my 1 minute man) running towards me so for some reason changed my plan and assumed the control was on the other side of the building, which it wasn't. 20+ secs lost in a tight race like this was duly punshed by Marty. Quite pleased with my pace though (considering).

Today's primary carer tasks were very easy because Daisy spent the whole day asleep because she's a bit ill, poor thing. I've still got a bit of a cold myself although the symptoms are very mild. Thought I should stretch my legs ahead of tomorrow's sprint given the recent inactivity. Slow jog around the back of Torrens to the conduit. Then did some 30sec 'sprints' (my sprints, flat out, are still over 3mpks) along that for a bit. Felt alright.

Night run around Farrer and Isaacs. Felt quite good.

6x5mins solid with 2min floats. Around the backs of Taylor and Arawang. Route had a few decent climbs. Felt a bit stiff and tired on the ups but ok otherwise.

Nice evening for it.
