Fun fast spur gully. Set off hard with only cursory glances of the map. Big fail at #1 - need to learn that it’s worth investing the time, especially early on where you’ll only be fresher later on in any case. Got quite confused when I hit a large gully that was only subtly marked on the map. Kept pushing and made more errors at #3 and #9. Got quite tired towards the end but maintained pace ok.

Fairly gentle run from home around Farrer and Isaacs just as the fog cleared.

Mona around Lake T. Had a bad night's sleep (awake til 4am) due to jetlag, and haven't run at speed since O-France day 1 almost a month ago. But felt ok once I got going. As usual, I probably overdid the 90s by 1-2s/km, which took it's toll later. Lovely day though.

15min warm-up around the lake, then 25min warm-down up to the edge of Urambi hills.

Thursday Aug 1 #

Journey back was fine, had a good long sleep and felt pretty good today. Typical Canberra winter day - sunny and cool, and so running felt pretty easy compared to the hills and humidity of France. Steady loop around Taylor and Cooleman without going up too much.

Overnight flight to Singapore was fine. Doing an overnight stopover here so had dinner, put kids to bed, then nipped out for a short jog along the park by the sea. In the dark but a very well lit and safe park.

Early start for a drive to Marseilles, then flight to Zurich. Enough time in transfer to see a bit of the city. Then flight to Singapore...
