Sunday Mar 4

Orienteering 1:25:00 [2]*** 4 km (21:15 / km)
spiked:26/30c shoes: O shoes
Taping control sites at Greno with James. Started off anti-clockwise, and met pretty much half way round.
Orienteering 42:00 [3]*** 4.5 km (9:20 / km)
spiked:30/32c shoes: O shoes
Checking tapes at the controls James had been to first after we had met half way. It ended up being good control pick training, ran cleanly through most of the controls and found all the tapes with no problem.

Saturday Mar 3

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3]4 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: O shoes
Run to start, jog back through last few controls to look for Rich then run back to car park.
Orienteering race 55:38 [4]*** 7.1 km (7:50 / km) +245m 6:41 / km
ahr:147 max:156 spiked:15/20c shoes: O shoes
DVO event at Stanton Moor. Made a last minute decision to go as it was sunny. Course was OK, but would have liked more controls in the quarries. Didn't run too hard, but tried to navigate cleanly, and managed that for the most part but made a couple of silly mistakes. Might have been me, might have been the map. Probably a bit of both. Don't think Neil liked the map last time he was there. Results:

Friday Mar 2

Note
(rest day)
Proper rest day. Went to the pub to avoid RDD.

Thursday Mar 1

Running 45:00 [3]9 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Road shoes
Run from home down to club hut, club hut out to Wadsley Church and then back home again. It's easy to know Andy T is back, because not only are all the ladies excited but the run to the session was somewhat harder than it has been the last few months!
Running intervals 30:00 [5]5 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Road shoes
Wadsley Church figure of 8 intervals. I was paired with Jules who was running very well, so it meant my rests weren't too long, but still just over 100%. 4.10, 4.08, 4.12, 4.10. All about 10 secs faster than last time I ran the session w/c 15/1, and I only did three then. Maybe I'm not getting ill.

Wednesday Feb 28

Running 52:24 [3]10 km (5:14 / km)
shoes: Road shoes
Ah, the weather in Sheffield is so lovely. Wet and windy tonight. Just went out on the roads through Fulwood, down the parks and Eccy Road and back through the uni. Felt OK, niggles in ankle and knee but nothing causing undue discomfort. Off to say 'Catch ya later sport' to Craney now.

Tuesday Feb 27

Running warm up/down 40:00 [3]8 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Road shoes
Run from work to track, a few extra laps warm up and then a warm down run round the bowl.
Running intervals 30:00 [5]6 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Lightweight trainers
Track. Still not sure whether this was a good idea or not, guess I'll find out tomorrow morning. 4 * 1500m. First interval felt good - 4.53. Second interval felt OK too - 4.53. Third interval I started to feel Portugal at about 1000m - 5.00. Fourth interval my world fell apart - 5.08. Oh dear.

Monday Feb 26

Running 33:00 [2]6 km (5:30 / km)
(rest day) shoes: Road shoes
Thought it would be a good idea to go for a short recovery run. Jogged down to circuits to see if Neil or Matt were there but they weren't. So just pottered on my own. I'm tired. I hurt. It would be easier to list the parts of my body that don't hurt :-(. And it's cold in Sheffield.
