Boggs Middle Distance. 2 big errors. 10 min error on 50 meter leg to #3. Kept thinking rock pile next to 2 was rock pile further up hill and about 1/2 to 4, so went too low and not far enough. Explore right spur, but was way down too low, then went further, then back to 2, and finally realized what I had done. Also 5 min error on 8. Was too low, below fight, when I wanted to be above it, then wandered around a bit. When I found the control, it didn't look at all like I was expecting it to be and didn't think the code would be correct. However, even though I did the other controls well, and ran reasonbly well for me, ended up 6th out of 7 in M70. Very disappointing. I think part is due to the fact that I do so little wilderness orienteering now, and the other is I don't do much distance running, concentrating on intervals for short distances. Will try to do a 1 hour run at least once a week, and hope to start going to out of town A meets next year again when I turn 75.

Actual distance ran 5.2 k and 300 m climb.

Boggs Mountain Long Course, Brown. Did'nt think I had done too badly, about 9 minutes error on 2 controls, 8 and 10, but ended up 6th out of 7. 10 was slightly misplaced, which was repositioned after the early runners returned, of which I was one. Would have moved me up to 4th.

My Garmin didn't lock on the satellite until after the 3rd control, so my actual distance ran is unknown, but was probably over 6 k.

Boggs Mtn Sprint. Bad first control. Over-ran it and then back to trail to relocate. On 11, I trhought I had aimed off to the left of the control on the trail, so I turned right, and ran for quite a while, until I realized I must have been to the right of tghe control. Prob 8 min of errors, which was a lot for a sprint.
