Run 40:00 [3]

Supposed to be a long run, but ended up being shorter than yesterday. Went out after the heavy rain, and thought I would be OK, but ended up getting hailed on, and thinking that every tree I passed would fall on me. Called it quites after that. Must be getting soft.

Orienteering race 44:21 [3] 7.4 km (6:00 / km)

Nice area, on a pretty straight foward, but steep course. Felt quite sluggish out there, and couldn't get the legs rolling over fast enough. Navigated OK, but wandered off a bit going over the tops of hills/spurs.

Run 45:00 [3]

Pretty nice run up around Diamond Hill. Didn't really feel like doing any more, despite how nice out it was. Started to feel quite hot, so I don't know if I will be able to cope with Queensland.

Run 50:00 [3]

Still 9 degrees when I got out tonight, which made it nice. Was hoping the majority of the run would be in the light, but wasn't able to leave work until 6, so that didn't really happen.

Run warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Run intervals 20:00 [3]

Feeling a little bit flat after a work induced lack of training last week. Mona fartlek around the lake.

Run 45:00 [3]

Got a bit of sun today which was nice. Quite boring trying to keep within 2.5km of home.

Run 40:00 [3]

Very boring run, trying to stay close to home, and within mobile range, just in case I got a call from work. Got through the run without a call, but I suppose that just means less money to spend in Queensland. Had a bit of a headache after work, but the run didn't make it any worse.

Run intervals 20:00 [3]

Mona fartlek around the lake. Feeling petty shit, and was convinced I was going to get called back into work. I didn't, which probably means I will get a call at 3am in the morning.

Orienteering race 16:00 [4] 2.1 km (7:37 / km)

Hageby: Started out OK. Overshot 2 a little bit by running too far up the creek, but the rest of the first map was good. 2nd map started out well too, but lost a fair bit of time on both the controls around the blackberries. Somehow managed to almost miss the last loop.

Orienteering race 20:00 [4] 2.6 km (7:42 / km)

Thought things may have picked up a bit after the first race, as this one had some longer legs to stide out. First short loop was good, and the first long one was ok as well. Stuffed up the long loop to the west, stopping way to short of the first control, and leaving the control at an angle headed directly north, ensuring that I missed the next control by a long way as well, and then proceeded to fall flat on my face and knock the wind out of myself. I almost managed to have another stack, not seeing the fence until the last second. Overshot the one in the depression, and completely screwed up the short loop, ending up half way to the main road up the creek before I realised.

Copious amounts of profanity was required during this race.

Orienteering race 17:00 [4] 2.2 km (7:44 / km)

Needed to redeam myself after the last race, but the Orientshow probably wasn't the one to try and do it in. Good through the first butterfly running with Bruce, but then missed one on the way to the next pivot control. Ran the next loop in the wrong direction, but due to my own incompetence, I got the the correct control first. Next loop was OK, but ran the next one in reverse, and spent quite a whole looking for the control that I had punched before in error.

Run 1:10:00 [3]

A bit shorter than I would have liked, but at least I got out for a run.

Run 37:00 [3]

Pretty cold and wet out, but thought I had better try and make this a good run, as I don't know what training I will get done next week. Didn't quite work out as I had planned. Just wanted to get back home from about the moment I stepped out the door.

Run warm up/down 15:00 [2]

Don't think the warm-up worked to well.

Run intervals 20:00 [4]

Mona fartlek around the lake. There is now a thin layer of water covering the whole lake, which is more than when I moved here. Didn't chuck enough warm cloths in the car this morning, and as a result I was quite cold for the whole session. Felt pretty sluggish as well, hopefully I am not getting sick, everyone else at work seems to be.

Orienteering race 1:02:10 [3] 8.3 km (7:29 / km)

Pretty good run. Made one pretty major mistake at 11, but managed to finnish of the rest of the run OK. Lost a bit of time on a few other legs. Very wet and slick under foot, and a few snow flurries made it a little more interesting.

Run 40:00 [3]

Short run, which I managed to fit in in between the rain and hail. Managed watch more of the cycling in than I was expecting, but consequently I got less of the work done that I needed to do.

Run 45:00 [3]

Got a bit wet and shit out there in the last 15 minutes, but the first bit was good if you could avoid the mud and puddles after it pissed down during the day

Tuesday Aug 5, 2008 #

Run warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Run intervals 20:00 [4]

Mona fartlek around the lake. Getting much lighter out in the evenings. There is even a bit more water in the swamp/lake. Still felt a little bit tight after the weekend, but not too bad.

Orienteering race 1:56:30 [4] 15.8 km (7:22 / km)

Blodslitet at Sailor's Creek.

Suprised to get through this one so well. Even more suprised when Jimbo started dropping off on the first loop.

Loop 1: 38.12
Loop 2: 34.11
Loop 3: 44.02

Made my biggest mistake of the day while leaving the start triangle, in the wrong direction. Few other small ones, and lost a bit of time with some bad choice of crossings on some of the larger errosion gullies. Really started to fade and tighten up on the last two long legs.

Hopefully I will still be able to walk tomorrow, otherwise I might need a wheelchair to do my ward round.

Pretty short one around Black Hill.
