Run 30:00 [3]

Short run around Brown Hill. Very dark by the time I finally got home from work, but it was much warmer than it had been for the last few days.

Dissapointed that I wont be able to make it to the Orientshow. Always a good race.

Riding- Road 1:55:00 [3] 54.9 km (2:06 / km)

Out Gillies St into a pretty constant headwind. Through Creswick then up the highway to Dean, then home. Was expecting a nice tailwind on the way home, but for some reason it had died down.

Struggled towards the end. Good to get out on the bike again.

Run 48:00 [3]

Finally got the internet connected, so I can start logging the sessions that I can remember.

Run up to Gong Gong Res. Took a different route up the ridge, along the edge of the farmland, instead of running the track the whole way. Made for a steep climb and some bush bashing, but not too bad a run.

Orienteering race 1:04:55 [4] 11.0 km (5:54 / km) +235m 5:20 / km

Feeling very sluggish and stiff after yesterday, and a poor nights sleep. Overshot the first control, but only had a few wobbles after that. Really struggled to get up anything that even resembled a hill, and there were a few more out there than I was expecting.

Run 22:00 [3]

Spent most of the day moving house. Was pretty cold, but at least it didn't rain. Short run late in the afternoon to check out some of the surrounding streets. Was hoping to be able to get along a track beside the freeway, but there were houses built right up against the fence.

Run 30:00 [3]

Reasonable run, but pretty short, just like this entry.

Run 34:00 [3]

Pretty nice out tonight. Tracks were bloodly slippery.

Orienteering race 43:30 [3] 6.6 km (6:35 / km)

Ballarat series out at Linton. Really struggled to get going. Messed up a pretty easy one in a gully, then stuffed another one comming off the top of a hill in a burnt area, where I expected the visibility to be much better.

Pretty good course, although with some very easy legs. Some nice sublte flat stuff around the bottom of the map too.

Orienteering 26:21 [3] 4.4 km (5:59 / km)

After not getting out at all yesterday, for fear of getting blown away, or being hit by a tree/branch/powerline/roof, needed to make today a bit longer. Went out and ran the shorter hard course. Some good legs again, different to the A course, but again, some very easy track running legs.

Run warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Really struggled to get going, and feeling very cold and sluggish, but no rain and sheltered from the wind in the forest.

Run 30:00 [3]

Little better than last night. Hands almost went numb towards the end it was so cold. Will probably have to go out and buy a new TV so I can continue to watch the Tour. Why can't the cricket be put onto the digital channel instead?

Run 30:00 [3]

Feeling pretty crap this afternoon. Probably didn't help that I had to wait until after the Tour highlights to head out.

Sunday Jul 5, 2009 #

Orienteering race 23:56 [5] 4.5 km (5:19 / km)

Relay at Monash Uni. Leg 1. Seemed to take much longer than 24 minutes. Struggled to navigate at all. At least there were a few other people around to keep me from going too wrong.

Orienteering race 17:50 [5] 3.0 km (5:57 / km)

Was forced to concentrate a bit more on this one after smashing compass towards the end of the first loop. Still had a few navigation wobbles, including a 90 degree error out of the second last control. Pretty stiff after the first loop, and was definately not running as quickly.

Orienteering race 24:07 [4] 2.8 km (8:37 / km)

Sprint race at Darebin. Running reasonably well to begin with, but couldn't keep it up, and suffered a few significant brain explosions. See Route Gadget for details.

Orienteering race 28:43 [4] 5.0 km (5:45 / km)

Middle Dist at Eaglemont Flats. Not running quite as freely as this morning, and again, stupidity got the best of me.

Run 25:00 [3]

Hateful. hateful weather for a run. Bloody cold, windy and raining.

Run 54:00 [3]

Had the day off today, but the wind and rain made it a bit of a challenge to get myself out of the house. Managed to dodge most of the rain, and only got a light shower in the middle and towards the end.

Tried to find a way around the golf course, but was only found a lot of dead ends and farmland. Ended up running hope through the golf course, and only had to take one wide detour to avoid a green-keeper.

Little bit stiff in the sholders from yesterday, after locking myself out of my house, and having to do a contortionist act to get in through the bathroom window.
