Run 35:00 [2]

Bit of a run and an explore in the early evening. Left it pretty late in the day, but at least it wasn't raining. Had a list of things to do today on my day off, but haven't crossed to may of them off.

Orienteering race 21:43 [4] 3.7 km (5:52 / km)

Vic Sprint Champs

Don't know why I bother...

Orienteering race 1:09:50 [4] 6.5 km (10:45 / km) +155m 9:36 / km

Bendigo Rocks event 1. One of the most continually demanding races I have run for some time. I have always struggled in this area, and in low visibility terrain in general. Went out with the aim of forcing myself to concentrate and pay attention to the compass for the whole race. Almost made it, but blew up badly in the last km.

Very happy I came up for the event. Another top quality Neil Barr Special.

Run 30:00 [3]

Really CBF tonight. Hopefully I will spark up a bit by the weekend.

Run 30:00 [3]

Pretty short run. Bit suprised I was still a bit sore from the weekend. Looking foward to Saturday's trip into the Bermuda Triangle.

Orienteering race 1:26:09 [4] 12.0 km (7:11 / km) +590m 5:46 / km

Ran reasonably well, considering I have not run over 35 minutes for about 3 weeks. No real mistakes out there. There were a few route choice options I probably got wrong, but I generally found that the course was very easy even though there is some lovely spur-gully out there.

Hopefully I will be able to stay healthy until Aus Champs, as I think I am finally getting over whatever it was that I had.

Riding-MTB 55:20 [3] 22.3 km (2:29 / km)

Short ride up around Nerrina. Very windy out, and quite a lot of fallen branches highlighted how long it has been since I have got out on the mountain bike, and how I have lost any coordination I may once have had.

Run 35:00 [3]

Bit of a late finish at work tonight, but was a pretty nice night to get out for a run.

Tuesday Aug 18, 2009 #

Run 32:00 [3]

Felt significantly better than the last run. Was able to struggle up most of the hills without feeling like my lungs about to pack it in. Hopefully I can get a bit of speed back for Sunday.

Sunday Aug 16, 2009 #

Run 25:00 [2]

Headed out today to see if I could still run. Turns out I can, but only just (as long as it is not up hill).

Orienteering race 51:10 [3] 5.9 km (8:40 / km)
(sick)

Don't think I have ever felt this shite while orienteering. Made some mistakes early on, and took some very bad route choices. May well not be going to work tomorrow.

Run 35:00 [3]

Short run up around the water tanks. Very nice evening for it.

Tuesday Aug 4, 2009 #

Run 43:30 [3]

Very nice run, despite it being very dark and muddy. Took slightly longer than expected, and as a result was getting pretty hungry by the end. Headed up Springs Road, back along the creek through Nerrina, and then home.

Sunday Aug 2, 2009 #

Run 45:00 [3]

Run around some of the very muddy single track behind Little Bendigo. Pretty cold out and very windy.

Run 40:00 [3]

Finished work reasonably early today, which made up for a very late night yesterday (I almost would have been able to make it to the Orientshow race if I drove very quickly (but I figured Maldon was just outside the 40 minutes I am allowed to be recalled into work)).

Pretty damp run through the drizzle for the last 30 minutes. Got a view over Ballarat pretty early on, and could see it rolling across the town. Almost made me turn around and go home, but deceided to HTFU to bring Bendigo glory in the relays.
