Orienteering race 41:50 [3] 6.3 km (6:38 / km)

Contour only on the north part of Canadian Forest. Finished work early enough so that I could make it to a Ballarat event for a change. Navigation was extreemly loose, and lost 1-1.5 minutes on 4, 5 and 8. Lucky I wasn't at Mt Alexander or it could have been a disaster.

Run 35:00 [3]

Bitterly cold today, with even some reports of snow around Ballarat (but I don't know how you would be able to tell with the wind). Was a bit warmer in the evening when I ran, but still didn't feel overly warm in a jacket and gloves. Warmed up a bit towards the end along the creek out of the wind.

Orienteering race 15:51 [3] 2.4 km (6:36 / km)

Vic Sprint Champs. Probably one of my favourite areas around Castlemaine. Reasonable run, with no horriffic misses. Lost a bit of time on 2, and some more on a bad route choice to 4. Lost some more time on 6 and 7. Was a bit of a struggle up to 9, and was hesitant to 10. Ran right past 11 without even seeing it.

Quite happy with the running today, but need to work out what Warren is on. It obviously works.

Orienteering race 1:58:39 [4] 14.2 km (8:21 / km)

Not a good one today. Lost time on 4 by doing stupid things and not concentrating, then completely stuffed number 13. Brain stopped working on the way to 21, and although I knew where I should be, for some reason the map didn't seem to be the same as the terrain.

Seems the course setter did not want people running on tracks at all today, resulting in next to no real route choice, which is a bit of a shame as it is the kind of map that offers endless routechoice potential.

Will need to pull the finger out for tomorrow.
