Orienteering race 52:53 [4] *** 5.0 km (10:35 / km) +265m 8:22 / km

11.00am: DVOA EVENT- RIDLEY CREEK STATE PARK - Green Course.
Last event of the year. A bit warmer than the last few days. An excellent planned course by Hugh MacMullan III, using the best parts. A lot of controls in certain areas, which required being focused. 3-4 stayed up too high, lost about 30 secs. 12 was left to much to star with. 13-14 took the road around option, Ron Bortz headed up to path and was about 30 sec faster. Really enjoyed course. Ron got me overall by 23 secs, interesting to see the seconds we got over each other, amazingly very close in 90% of legs. He lost about a minute trying to go direct out of 14 rather than take the path.

An excellent way to finish the season, as this park is full of a lot of nasty briars, which Hugh's courses did a great job of really minimizing. Meanwhile Carol and Ellie did a good walk around the park roads. A nice touch was Ann MacMullan having veggie chillie at the finish which was yummy.

Cycling 37:52 [4] 9.5 mi (3:59 / mi)
slept:7.5 weight:198.8lbs shoes: Bike: Jamis Coda Comp - hybrid

7.20am: beautiful sunny day, well sun low in the sky and really cold 28degF with wind chill of 20degF. Thank goodness for buff's as put one on under my bike helmet and it was definitely needed. Out. 20.22, back 17.30. Pushed pretty hard.
My feet took forever to thaw.

Cycling 45:00 [2] 9.5 mi (4:44 / mi)
slept:8.0 weight:199.8lbs shoes: Bike: Jamis Coda Comp - hybrid

Generally I have just felt pretty wore out this last week, drained of any energy. Best thing to do was a gentle bike ride around the loop as exercise is still needed.

Note

11.30am: an early start for Flyers game. Carol and I did our traditional game, this year against the Winnipeg Jets. A good game, though the Flyers were definitely outplayed in the 3rd period, but they still won 2-1.

running 43:54 [2] 5.1 mi (8:36 / mi)
slept:7.5 weight:199.8lbs shoes: Ascis GT-2000

8.55am: run along the river. Cold 31degF with wind chill of 22degF, but a beautiful sunny day for the Thanksgiving Day parade along the Parkway. Ironically, I had too many good layers so was over dressed!

Stretching 9:00 [0]

Good stretch after run.

Erg 10:00 [3] 2.33 km (4:18 / km)

9.50am: as ran, opted for a 10 minute session. Resistance level 10. Listening to Pink Martini's, set a stroke rate of 25/min, kept a good consistent pace. 141 calories burnt - equivalent of one slice of pumpkin pie without cream?

walking 1:00:00 [1] 3.0 mi (20:00 / mi)

2.10pm: Walk along Forbidden Drive with Carol and Ellie. It was looking beautiful with the leaves down and some fine reflections of trees off the river. It was cold.
Now onward to Thanksgiving dinner. It will be quiet without either Alison or Heather being home.
