8.48am: DVOA A-MEET - Foc Chaser Day 2: Tyler Arboretum, PA - Green X
New map and an excellent course by Clem, requiring focus the whole time. Still some snow on the ground, but runnable, though slushy and muddy in places. The map is very detailed and hard to read initially, thank goodness for the magnifier. Lost a minute or so 6-7 when drifted right and got pulled to a control I saw- dumb mistake. 7-8 was an experience, straight forward until crossing the stream just before the control, when trying to be careful I slipped and fell in the stream. Still chilly so not a smart move, but hey, that is par for course in this sport. 8-9 stepped in a hidden hole and thankfully didn't break my shin! Now a bogie for course. An interesting series of short legs immediately after the road crossing. 11-12 was on compass bearing, but working around briars ended up being way off the right. Corrected in open area and sharp left and back a bit, possibly another minute lost. Crossing the stream between 14-15 was trying to be more careful and slid in the mud and fell totally in the stream/ mud up to my stomach. Now a double bogie! Enjoying the more open woods on east side of road, but definitely short on gas. Attackpoints for 15 and 16 very obvious. Enjoyed 16-17 as more subtle terrain. 19-20 was a bear going up the hill.

Another excellent DVOA A-Meet. Roger Hartley and his team, a big thank-you.

12.01pm DVOA A-MEET - Ridley Creek State Park: Green X Course
Snow on the ground. Worked at starts, so had late start. Half of course was on. A new section of map on the north side of Gradyville Rd. Vegetation okay at this time of year. A good course, though a couple of controls a bit too easy ( not including the ones to get you under Gradyville Rd). Although feeling a bit under the weather still with the cold, enjoyed the course, though a late start was definitely an advantage as tracks beaten down in snow.
14-15 stayed on the trail too long, and 17-18 veered to the right without compensating once beyond thick vegetation.

Note
(sick)

Woke up with nasty sinus cold which progressively got worse as day went on. Add to it being the first day of Spring, it snowed!. Hoping I am up to running tomorrow.
