10.20am: Walked out along coastal path and collected some stones and then out along the Dreel and over to Balcaskie House and up to Kellie Castle to find out it was closed on a Tuesday. Walked back past Balcaskie House and on the path by the church yard and over to Abercrombie and down to St Monans. Took the bus back from there. A nice walk on paths we haven’t been before.

11.45am: Tayside OC Event - Balkello Hill, near Dundee. Short Green Course 3.5km 90 m climb.
To Control 1, took too early a path, relocated and was hoping to use ruined fence as a feature, but in reality, it did not exist on the map. 1-2 hesitated on which paths. 5-6 cut over early as seemed like a good path and was one hill too low.
It was good to get out orienteering in the woods and moorland, as first time since I badly sprained my ankle. When entering I chose the Short Green as I wasn’t sure how my ankle was still getting physio for the sprain. It held up well, so could have done the green course. I guess it was better to be safe than sorry.
