Sunday May 20

Running 45:00 [3]
Running to the park before session.
Running intervals 30:00 [5]
Intervals around a hilly part of the park (Gloucester Park - Basildon's jewl in its crown). 4, 3, 2, 1, 1,1,1,2,3,4 (with recoveries going down in line with the efforts). Tough session and Ant made me work hard.

Running 1:30:00 [3]
Long run around delightful Basildon with Ant Squire. It was good to back to my roots - ploughed overgrown fields, with poorly maintained footpaths - oh what a joy. Most fun was that Ant had one of the new Garmin toys, so we played a game of guessing our mile splits (you should have been there!)

Friday May 18

S+C 50:00 [3]
Standard sesh. Still too early. Still hurts too much.
Running 40:00 [4]
Foxdahl 30:90s for 40 minutes. Wanted to try and make my lunchtime run a bit tougher rather than a standard "run".
Running warm up/down 20:00 [3]

Thursday May 17

Orienteering tempo 1:00:00 [4]
Trains with Neil around Burbage Mines / Lady Cannings (which was lovely and runnable).

Good session but still struggle to get my focus 100% at the end of a work day.

Wednesday May 16

Running 1:15:00 [2]
Running to and back from gym + some extra stuff up the parks. Ran with a couple of maps from Portugal - it was fun to try and visualise the courses using a mixture of the map and my memory!

S+C 1:00:00 [3]
Standard session, in format but with some extra weights. Felt a bit stronger today (must have been the can of spinach I eat before the session) so was pretty pleased. Still struggling with backwards walking...
Orienteering 45:00 [3]
Putting out controls + taking them in again. Glad people enjoyed the courses. Ran quite hard when putting the flags out (almost like an interval session) as was running a bit late!

Tuesday May 15

Orienteering 50:00 [1]
Jogging around Walkley, making sure that control points were ok and that there was something I could tape the kites to.
Running race 40:00 [5]
Burbage fell race. Randy went off like a train, and no one went with him initially. Lloyd bridged the gap, and I stayed back fighting for 3rd (which I got) against someone dressed head to toe in "Skins" kit. Really fun race, and good training. Think Randy got the record, so it was a pretty fast race - I was 1 min back.
Running warm up/down 40:00 [2]
Managed to lose Neil on the warm down which was a bonus ;).

Monday May 14

S+C 1:00:00 [3]
another 7.00 am session. Yawned my way through the first half of set, which was mainly focused on hip / glut strength.
