A little action with the Tippmann A5 - logged as half time. Raining initially so pretty wet - but also LOTS of fun. First time out this year, hopefully not the last.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Warm up plus recovery in between intervals.
Running 31:00
Mixed training - soccer drills and so on. Reminded me of training with CO Chenau (home club of Marc Lauenstein and Alain Berger, among others) back in 1993. They would go for a run as a club and then play a game of soccer after as one of the weekly club trainings.

With only two of us on the full-sized pitch, Jon and I were getting quite the workout. And I really need to improve on my game if I ever want to play again. Though since there is no local league, playing a bit of footy will be on hold indefinitely.

Mountain biking 50:00 [3] 12 km (4:10 / km)
slept:4.0
MTB around the extended test loop with Jon. Lots of little surges and attacks. Unfortunately, we mis-communicated on whether we would turn at one intersection and he veered towards me, causing me to take a spectacular crash at nearly full speed on pavement scattered with loose stone. Can you say raspberry jam? Bad road rash on elbow and ripped up my hip, but probably nothing too debilitating. Stopped the ride and went home from there though to shower and start picking out sand and pebbles. Fortunately, the bike was not permanently damaged - after spending all that time and money building her up as a custom racer, it would have been disappointing....

A little tired from being on call but not too terrible. Mainly disappointed at not being able to complete the planned 90-minute ride.
Mountain biking 1:20:00 [3] 20 km (4:00 / km)
Second ride of the day, this time on the awesome trails just north of Timmins. Holey moley, how come I never found out about these before???? Wide singletrack, very buff, and very fast. Great place to get a workout. I wasn't as agressive as I might have been since the crash in the morning ride, but it was quite fun just the same. Will definitely have to come back here with Katta sometime. Trails would be great for running, and the lake might make this a good spot for brick workouts too....

Note
Well, I arbitrarily decided to start logging once again. Haven't put any time on this thing in a long, long, long while. Just too busy with life at home and at work.

Not that I haevn't been training - probably have managed about 200 unlogged hours thus far this year. Not amazing, but not too shabby either. And the orienteering results are coming along nicely enough too.

Not sure if I'll be able to sustain the logging, but will try. I decided that if I had to cut down on either logging or training, it had better be logging, and the same rule will continue to apply.

I will be running the long and middle qualifiers at WOC, and hopefully the relay as well (team has not been chosen yet and will be named in Kiev after the qualification races are done). So, I'll need to put in some longer stuff as well as continuing with my shorter stuff that I've been favoring recently.

Very busy weeks coming up at work, but will be able to fly to Sweden and join Katta and Mia in less than 3 weeks, so that's good. Very good.
