I hit up Richard Juryn trail and a few other new ones on the way home...as one does on their commute.

I had designs on making it north to Lynn Lake but after an hour, I still had 3.8k to go when I reached Haines Valley. I'll cross the Lynn River and ascend to the back of Grouse there at some point, too. It'll be a hairy crossing as the water is cascading and there's lots of big debris to negotiate. There was a bit more water on the route today after yesterday's full day deluge of rain.

Paddle 2:08:00 [3] 16.0 km (8:00 / km)

Friday night date night with...Leanimal! We rented a double sea kayak and explored Indian Arm a little bit. We went northward to an old hydroelectric set up and then gawked at the coastline on our way back south. The terrain really is gorgeous. And then the weather came in and it was an effort for the last 30 minutes to make our way back to base. Good to get in the water but I was certainly feeling my Church of Pain sessions in my upper body muscles.

Orienteering 39:25 [5] +250m

Really great course for a mass start score-o in the Capilano River Regional Park. I much prefer the competitiveness and intensity of a mass start vs. the 'festival' style of head out when you want. I had a few bobbles in the technical terrain but overall, I ran and nav'd well. It was good to bump into Gary Robbins as I really haven't seen him much yet out here.
