Orienteering 1:30:00 [4] +130m
shoes: Salomon XA Enduro

Score-O event out of Pacifc Park was a pain to get to on a midweek evening but it was well worth it. I &:$(ed up right off the start and went for a CP that had been eliminated. Back on track and shortly thereafter, went for a short cut that turned into a nightmare. Green on this map really does mean "don't even bother because the bush is so thick, it'll carve your legs up". My legs look like they've been scratched to he77 by a pack of pissed of cats. Losing too much precious time, I just ran out the rest of the race as efficiently as I could. No idea how I did and I don't really care. It was just so sweet to get on a map for 90 minutes and fire off some strategy.

Paddle 1:10:00 [3] 8.87 km (7:54 / km)

Evening paddle to the Port Moody inlet of Indian Arm. The water was quite calm which made for a fast pace. Came decently close to a sea lion, who was bobbing up and down along the coast...so cool.

Trail Run 4:30:00 [3] +1550m
shoes: Salomon XA Enduro

After experiencing Hanes Valley with Hansel and Harps last June, I really wanted to see what Goat Ridge looked like from WAY up above the valley floor. So, I started atop Skyline Dr., legged it up Larson Trail to the top of Grouse and headed north toward Crown. At the junction, I veered east and headed out onto the Ridgeline. It was SO beautiful out there. I had the whole thing to myself and had to stop and gawk at the views more than a couple of times. I really enjoyed the journey back there to such a special place. I ran back down via Skyline trail which was a killer on my knees as it's a loose rock descent for hundreds of vertical metres.

Cooky discovery? There are a whack of dodgy looking, dilapidated buildings in the forest at the bottom of Grouse's ski runs with all sorts of garbage, hanging cords in the trees, and defunct industrial parts kicking around. I got out of there quick smart.
