Friday Feb 23

Note
(injured) (rest day)
Getting there slowly. My left leg almost feels good as new, though the right one still seems a little tender. May think about some sort of exercise this afternoon - I need the break from revision (and I'm getting fat).
Must resist the temptation to go the the National this weekend, though...
Note
So, didn't do any exercise. Did, however, get the 2007 Oxford City Race registered with BO(F).
For those who don't already know: Saturday 10th November, Oxford. Be there, or be somewhere else. Whatever. It's a free country, you know.

Circuits 35:00 [4]
(injured)
Club Circuits, avoiding the impacty-type exercises (star jumps, burpies and the like). I think it's helped loosen things up a bit, but my right shin is still painful when I walk.

Note
(injured) (rest day)
Shins sufficiently buggered to stop me from taking part in the relays. Scott not happy.

Bugger.
Started off feeling quite confident, with the shin problems (that I've been keeping quiet for the last week) not really bothering me. Then completely screwed up #2, ending up attacking off first one, then a second incorrect veg boundary. By this point I'd twanged my shins on various rocks/twigs/assorted undregrowth, and they were starting to hurt a lot. Then made the mistake of trying to contour through the crap from #4 to #5 (ignoring a path option), by the end of which I was virtually in tears. Don't remember much from that point onwards - made a particularly stupid route choice on the first long leg just to avoid going through "terrain", walked most of the way from #11 to #12, got lost at the spectator control, fell over repeatedly, occasionally screamed. I seemed to lose all strength in my right ankle, and with it any sense of balance. All of which was particularly annoying as I seemed to spike most of the controls (albeit very slowly). Still somehow managed to finish third on the Men's B, which - combined with a blinder of a run from Ollie - won us a Toblerone. Yay.
Stretching 10:00 [1]
Desperately trying to make the hurtiness go away.
