Orienteering race (Aus Relays) 40:22 [5] 6.1 km (6:37 / km)
shoes: Acics GEL GT-2120

Unfortunatly I was disapointed with this run. To have an alright run with no technical mistakes was ruined by a stupid mistake. Not sure what happened but i ended up going from 13 to 15. realised after 2mins of running that i missed it and went back. Was so sure Duncan had got me after he made a mistake earlier, i must have put about 4mins into him. But just after i punched he rocked up to my relief. Wasn't to happy and cost us the relay win, but there isn't much you can do.

Note

Onya olly for taking out JNOL, and cyclones for another year of junior domination. I picked up a lot of motivation and inspiration from this carnival. I can't wait to get fit again and orienteering well. The best thing i ever did was take a break from it all. Big plans for 2009.

Orienteering race (Aus Long Dist Champs) 1:32:39 [4] 11.1 km (8:21 / km)
shoes: Acics GEL GT-2120

Leading up to this i was regreting entering in the elites. Woke up feeling good, ready for a big race. Was feeling really good out on the course, navigating really well, no mistakes till the second last control (which can be put down to a certain log crossing that appears like a rock face, and the circle that could have been broken that covered a watercourse). Was feeling great running, confident navigating, control flow was smooth. I could not have been happier, on 4 days training, finishing a course that far only 13mins down on olly and kurt was really promising and satisfying. I can't wait to get fit again... Stoked.

Orienteering race (Aus Sprint Champs) 22:28 [4] 4.0 km (5:37 / km)
shoes: Acics GEL GT-2120

Glad to be finished exams and assignments. This was a challenge, speed is bit of a problem but highly expected. Just a few small errors in the horse things before the spectator, just not fast/fit enough at the moment... soon. Did not think that the showgrounds would provide such an interesting map. Overall, satisfied.

Really happy with this. Clean, navigating well, good control flow. 1 small technical mistake, 1 large fitness mistake.
