Orienteering long 3:22:18 [4]
What a day, a really taxing day. A little disappointed I couldn't / didnt finish stronger. I dropped two gels on course so only had one gel plus water issue at the end of the far course resulted in being dehydrated.
Course was great but just a big mistake at 2, my route choice to 4 was poor, more time loss at 6 but at least corrected fairly quickly and same at 8. Given the early losses I was in a bit of a slump as I did 9-11 but I was obviously still tracking physically okay when i saw the leg to 12 I was like if I want to pull out now is the time.
Went the wide left route and didnt hit the track as early as I wanted, made for an easy approach. My navigation from this point on was clean albiet slow. Took a nice safe approach to 14 via the track, walked all of 17 up the hill, from 19 I detoured to get some water as I approached 20 I saw Cameron which gave me a lift to keep pushing, Cameron left for the water after 20, I went at a nice jog pace through the short legs 21-24 then made a stupid route choice decision to 25. Slog back up the hill to 27 then a nice gentle roll back down the hill to the finish.
