Note

This walking around campus thing with all the training has been making me super tired. My legs feel okay, but I will probably take it a little easy because I've just been exhausted by doing anywhere from 20 to 50 thousand steps a day according to my watch ...

Ran with running club. Talked a lot with the president as he was very interested in orienteering (as most people are in something so crazy).
Convinced him to consider a weekend orienteering trip so that might happen? Definitely not confirmed.

Otherwise the run was a nice and relaxing pace, but it was almost all on pavement without many places to run on the grass on the side which is a big difference to what I'm used to.

Also led the group into wet asphalt so that was a yikes. Everyone washed their shoes after, but I still have black stain on the bottom of my shoes.

Hopefully we go explore more trail routes soon.

First ran to the first running club meeting to get the info for that. Then I ran to the outdoor fitness center to do some strength. Then I ran to the track to meet the XC/Track club team and got that info, then I ran back to my dorm.

She showed me a beautiful trail loop from Paly around Stanford campus (by far the most scenic run I've been on so far)

DAY TIME!! I could finally explore the trails.

I looked quickly at the google maps of the nearby area and just decided to run toward the dish and see if I could find my way there (spoiler alert: I didn't).

The run was quite interesting anyways. I found myself at a really nice trail surrounding a dried up lake so I ran around it until I found a small trail cutting off into the forest.

I took this tiny trail until it ended, then I tried to keep going and ran into an old barb wire fence, got scratched up, crossed it anyways, and ran into a nice open field.

Seconds later a golf ball whizzed past 10 feet in front of me which was when I realized the nice grass field that I opened up into was the Stanford gold course's driving range so I quickly turned around and went back through the barb wire fence and back to the lake trail.

I branched off the lake trail and onto the golf course trails which were nice, but kind of scary since there were golfers hitting balls and I was scared I would just get knocked dead.

Anyways, the run was fun, kind of disappointing I didn't find more trails, but maybe next time.

Ran with my neighbor Isaiah. Twas nice. Chatted about running stuff.

Finished up with some strides to try to maintain the speed (haven't done speed in a long time!)

Ran over to the Stanford gym and did some cardio. Didn't really want to explore outside of campus in darkness so I opted for some gym cardio.
