Running 31:11 [2] 6.0 km (5:12 / km)

am: Another run in Rosenstein park. Feeling a bit better bit still lethargic. The park connects with some other parks that go all the way into the city centre. Big enough to run for close to 60 min. Probably a bit boring after a while but good for some maintenance runs. I might go exploring in the hills later in the week if I get a chance.
SEcond toe on the left foot was aching last night. The toe has one joint that is rigid - the result of an injury incurred 30 years ago. I haven't had a problem with it for a long time (more than 20 years) but the long days of walking and sightseeing are obviously having an impact.
I'll have to run as much as possible while I'm here because I'm eating way too much. The pastries and cakes are unreal :-)

pm: Horribly slow run in Rosenstein Park in Stuttgart. Just looking around and scouting out where I can do some longer runs. Good to get the legs working again after being inactive for so long!!! Oppressively warm and humid compared to perth though.

am: Last run in Perth before heading o/s. Two circuits of Kings Pk. Right calf reminded me that it still wasn't right and then the left ankle decided to put in its two bob's worth. Don't know why the left ankle is been playing up. It's only an issue on runs longer than 50 min. Maybe the fact that I needed new shoes? In the end, the holiday break might actually do me some good!

am: Loop through Kings Pk. Right calf sore after yesterday. Might need to nurse it through the next couple of days :-(

am: warm-up for a time trial

am: 6k CC time trial in Kings Pk. Best time so far this year!!!! Easily. Finally got the big improvement that I knew was lurking just around the corner somewhere.

First half was significantly faster than anything I've done so far this year and probably compares favorably with times I ran in 2005. Second half was just as good. Didn't realise I was so close to breaking 24 otherwise I would have gone for it. Still someway to go to get down to my best of 23:18 but it starts to look a lot more achievable now :-)))
