Running 1:11:17 [3] 14.5 km (4:55 / km)

am: Longish run in Kings Pk. Still finding it hard. The quads are particularly sore but they'll just have to toughen up.

Saturday Oct 4, 2008 #

Gym 47:00 [2]
weight:74.4kg

md: At SportsMed Subi. First time back was pretty good but I got sore afterwards. This time, I felt sore and struggled on some exercises. Managed to complete 2 out of every 3 sets though.

Friday Oct 3, 2008 #

Running 51:19 [3] 11.0 km (4:40 / km)

pm: Shenton and Kings Park again. A bit faster this time, still sore though.

Thursday Oct 2, 2008 #

Running 48:07 [3] 10.2 km (4:43 / km)

pm: 10k loop through Shenton and around Kings Pk. Still sore. Shoes feel damn hard too, as though I've run 5000k in them, even though they're only a couple of weeks old. I think I'll have to look at changing shoes. Maybe I should get some with better forefoot cushioning.

Running 41:57 [3] 8.5 km (4:56 / km)

pm: Old run through Shenton and around Kings Pk. Felt sore in every muscle group. Running may not be good for you, but not running and then trying to start again is much worse.

Note

Back in Perth in the wee hours of the morning

Gym 44:00 [2]
weight:76.9kg

pm: An abreviated gym session at SportsMed Subi. Tried to do a bit of everything. Went better than expected and was able to do the same weights as before, even after 1 month of inactivity. Sore afterwards though.

Running 33:56 [3] 6.7 km (5:04 / km)

pm: Pretend run in Kings Pk. Ran like an absolute bogan. It's amazing how much fitness and co-ordination one can lose in a couple of weeks. Even more amazing will be how it long it will take to get back to full fitness again

Note

Left ankle was killing me in the last km of the run. This is after not having run a step for about 2 weeks! Right knee was as solid as a rock though, no sign of the niggling problems I had on and off for months before I went on hols.
