Note

Spent all afternoon shifting sand and timber and doing general prep work for the rebuild of our front verandah. Unfortunately the injury doesn't stop me from doing manual labour.

Gym 54:00 [2]
weight:80.2kg (injured)

md: Usual stuff at SportsMed Subi

Friday Aug 28, 2009 #

Spinning 36:00 [3]
max:128 (injured)

pm: Turning the pedals again.

Got an appointment to have an MRI next Fri. Couldn't get in any earlier. Was told that I needn't worry that the injury would heal completely before I have the scan

Spinning 32:00 [3]
max:124 (injured)

pm: Turning the pedals. Again. I'll have to get used to this. It might be my only form of endurance training for quite a while.

Saw the Doc this evening. He thinks I might have a stress fracture of the pelvis. I'll know for certain when I get the results of the MRI that I'm about to have.

Running 22:23 [2] 4.0 km (5:36 / km)
(injured)

am: A test run in Kings Pk. No good. Everything is OK for the first 4 min or so and then the adductors and hip flexors start tightening up, eventually reaching the point where the discomfort is too much. Not too much to stop me from running if I really wanted to, but bad enough for me to know that it would only get much worse if I kept going.

Gym 45:00 [2]
weight:80.4kg

pm: Usual gym minus the gym ball work and balancing glutes.

Note

Saw the physio before I did the gym. The verdict: don't know. Not a soft tissue injury he thinks. Maybe a pelvic problem. Bursitis? I've got an appointment to see Gerard Taylor on Thurs. Looks like more of this cycling caper for a while.

Tuesday Aug 25, 2009 #

Spinning 30:00 [3]
max:125 (injured)

pm: More maintenance. Reminds me of a certian Devo song.

Monday Aug 24, 2009 #

Spinning 40:00 [3]
max:138 (injured)

pm: EWR. I must be getting good at this shit because I was able to get the heart up to a pretty decent level.
I've been told NO RUNNING for a week. If that doesn't work, then amputation might be the next step.
