Cycling 2:23:43 [3] 64.1 km (2:15 / km)

am: Long ride out to Caversham and back. Originally thought about doing only 90-100 mins but after feeling good yesterday I decided I could aim for 2hrs. Got to Guildford and everything was OK so I pushed on to Caversham. No problems with the gut and I scored my fastest long ride.
Sat on 33-35kph around Riverside and Mounts Bay (apart from having to stop at one set of lights)
Got passed on Winthrop Ave by some idiot on a road bike who came past at about 100kph (seriously fast anyway) and then slowed to my pace once he got about 100m ahead. It was like he seriously, absolutely had to get in front of me. What a wanker. Why are so many cyclists like that? I had another one on Riverside who came past me, doing about 36 to my 32. We both stopped at the lights and I let him go first, and then he wanted to piddle along at about 29. Another tool.

am: Went for a ride down to UWA and around to Dalkieth. Windy on Matilda Bay but didn't seem to slow me down that much and the ride didn't seem that hard. Maybe I should have more rest weeks.

pm: At SportsMed Subi. Put quite a bit more effort into this session. Hernia repair was good. Still can't do bench press, lat pulldowns and gym ball work, but getting there with everything else.
First time under 80kg for a little while. A few more kilos to go. Defo got to get rid of the lard that attached itself to my gut.

pm: A short ride in Kings Pk. At close to the normal intensity. Almost blew a boiler trying to keep up with a road cyclist going up Lemnos St - the old lungs were struggling by the time I got to the top. Seem to have lost a bit of fitness already.

pm: A token gym session. Just tried out some of the usual exercises (the ones I thought I might have a chance of doing without rupturing anything). Started with almost no weight on each exercise and if things were OK stepped the weight up to a point where I thought it prudent to stop. Managed to build up to the normal weight on calf raises and balancing adductors.
(Former) Hernia seems to be coming along OK; no real pain except for a nasty stab or two on Mon evening.
