Gym 50:00 [1]

am: At Lords. Spent a lot of time fluffing about trying to figure out how I could fit in all my normal exercises in an unfamiliar gym

pm: Nice and hot - perfect weather for a run :-) Last one with voltaren !! Did the same run as last Sunday, but this time ran all the way instead of walking the last 500m and still did pretty much the same time. Felt quite strong at times in the middle stages so might actually be rediscovering a bit of running fitness.

am: Through the city to the river at East Perth, along the river cyclepath as far as Tranby House, then back home via Peninsula Rd and East St.
Saw two ppl I know on the river cyclepath and of course had to stop for a chat ;-)

am: In Kings Pk. First run without voltaren ... yay! Was paranoid that I would start having problems at any moment, but apart from a few vague twinges everything seemed OK. Funny how you can become so dependent on drugs ! Might still have some before the next run because I'm planning to do a longer one, but after that, if everything goes well, I should be able to forget the drugs for a while (at least until the next injury which, given my recent history, might be lurking just around the corner!!)

am: UWA, Birdwood, Jutland etc out to Claremont and return. No gratuitous lap of Kings Pk at the end:-) Was calm at first and I thought it would be a good chance to go for the mythical 30kph average. Unfortunately, a slightly gusty northerly sprang up about 10 min into the ride and put paid to that.

am: Was supposed to be an easy recovery ride down to Tawarri but ended going a lot faster than intended.

am: Long ride out into the Swan Valley. Pushed on a little farther than I've done previously, but decided against going all the way to the Great Northern Hwy. Very warm at the start and was damn hot by the time I turned for home. Over 30 for the 2nd half ! Took a long time to recover afterwards.
