| Cott-Swanny swim.
Conditions not too bad, little overcast to start with moderate SE winds which were hopefully going to push me faster than last year. Started at the very front of the field just to pester the faster swimmers, but get me a better time, hopefully. Swamped in the first 100metres, like normal. Water became quite choppy halfway down, doing a lot of zig-zagging, normal also. At the 1.5k mark was washed onto the reef or swam onto the reef, I should say, got a bit panicky as felt like I was being sucked under. Finished close to the beach at the finish so had to swim back out to the final turning buoy, though most did.
Happy to knock 3mins off my best time and beat my sister for starting rights to Rottnest in two weeks. Love the reef swim! |
