Caffeinated Adventure race.Team came 1st though who nows how?Thanks to Carbo Shotz for there support of products and Paddy Pallin outdoor adventure gear.

Adventure race race 12:00:00 [3]

Caffeinated race.Brief description of each leg when time permitts.

1/Metro style O event through the township of Bridgetown,find 8controls out of 10 in any order.King Kong hills in this town.Didnt think we went fast enough on this at times(most)as even karens team was just behind us and catching and no disrespect to Karen but we should be able to out run her by a quite abit and pull away.Wanted to get to the paddle as soon as pos to avoid a back log/jam of boats heading off and getting stuck on parts of the river.We got to TA 1 first but not by far.

2/River paddle,gee what can you say about this appart from we looked like complete gumbys.Wade and Blacky had no idea how to control a ruderless
craft,Fletch only had 1go before and did ok.Got passed by so many teams i wanted to hide and the final straw came when Boltboi passed us.Wade and Black tipped over and lost their packs down the river but luckily they floated and Fletch and i got them.A saviour came when i just noticed some teams doing a portage which we were thinking about.Was a very steep climb but had to be better than the paddling that was going on.Pulled back about 10spots with this move to be back in it again.

3/Orienteering trek.Felt better now that we seemed to be back in the hunt again as we headed off up a descent hill at he start of this leg.Blacky though did not look to good and had his head down on the ground so to get him moving quicker i pushed him up the hills which he didnt seem to mind with Fletch helping now and then.Said the paddle took quite abit out of him.Thought that was odd as each time i looked at him paddling he wasnt.Anyway was not a good sign to to be karking it so early and told him to eat some food then gave him some fruit and nuts.He carried on no probs.Each of the check points on this particular leg we didnt really hit that well appart from the first one.Dodgee map/tracks for the secound control and abit of misreading by Fletch on the 3rd sending us down a big hill in the wrong direction and a bingo conrtol on top of a monster hill climb full of Blackberries for the 3rd,still we got into ta3 in 2nd i thought which was a good result with the Haggerbies in 1st just heading off on the mtb leg.Who ever said the haggerbies late ring ins were gumbys was wrong.

4/MTB Rogaine:Get 4controls in any order.At the start of this leg did notice the H'bs took off in a complete different direction than we did which had me worried at the time and mentioned it to Fletch just incase.Do remember going over this section of the map with Fletch and we couldnt seem to find a shorter/safe way that tracks went through on for sure so we went a longer way to the control areas.Had a few minor hiccups along the way with tracks,standing next to a control at a dam and not seeing it but for most part wasnt to bad though abit slow again on the riding with a group nearly catching us from behind,Yogi's i gathered.Got into TA and found the H"bs about half hour ahead when i thought we may of passed them when thinking they headed the wrong way at the start,not so it seems.Still in 2nd spot and doing ok but half an hour a good lead at this stage for them i thought with a mickey leg ahead?

Short ride around Karrinyup and abit of single track in StarSwamp then headed up to Mullaloo via the scenic coast route and back again.

Ski Paddle-River (Spirit Ski !) 1:25:19 [3] 12.8 km (6:40 / km)

Plan was to do a short paddle from Banks to Tranby but when i got out to that section of the paddle the water was so peaceful and calm that i carried on to the canal section just before Garrett bridge and headed back from there.Lucky it wasnt too cold when it got dark as only had shorts and a singlet on.

Early morn ride to work in quite warm conditions really + had abit of a tail wind.Did abit extra around karrinyup as was 40mins early and only want to be 30.

Ride through part of the Northern Triggs bush reserve on route to Mullaloo and or beyound depending on time.
In the end went into Star Swamp and stayed there and rode the many single tracks and sand tracks around the area to try and improve my gummby bike handling skills.Some parts that i run are really twisty tight turn back on themselves tracks so made for good riding,as good as any place in the city anyway and had to feet plant a few times.Was a good little excercise

Swim (Pool) 46:23 [2]

Pretty much just straight out lap swimming with 10mins just pool buoy and the rest with buoy and paddles.Few kinda mickey type drills as well here and there.
A few of those pesky breaststrokers getting in the way now and then,that stroke should be banned and only used on pensioners day and not in the fast lane.
That change room too is like a fat persons gay hang out.
Good swim though.
