MTB Orienteering race (Smailes Mill) 59:41 [5] *** 14.7 km (4:04 / km) +200m 3:48 / km

WA Mid Dist. Disappointing end to a bleak season. Rode OK, but no real power left after a blighted training effort over the past six months. Lungs were clear enough, breathing wasn't the issue. Orienteered OK but at my fitness level I needed to be clean to be competitive and I wasn't. 5th, 20 seconds behind Tooms (wtf?). tRicky won in 51.23.
1 Took it slow
2 Back over the top, which I think is the best
3 Missed the track -0.30
4 Stopped too soon
5 missed the track coming out, should have just kept going -1.00
6 Round the left hand track
7 Didn't get out of 6 well, lost 30 secs in a cul de sac. Then missed the track for 7 had to come in from beyond it. -1.00
8 Went N. Fork in the main road was trickier than it looked
9 Missed the first track, the alternative was a bit slow.
10 Decided to go down to the second track, because I wanted to see what it was like for 10-11. Missed it and had to come back from the main junction (-1.30). Then missed the track the control was on and rode 150m down the alternative route to 11 (-1.30)
11 lost a bit of time getting in and out of it -0.30
F Fine, but slow.

Total time loss 6 minutes - not a good effort. Times/km from GPS

Calf Drops 3 x 25 with 14kg. Physio today - still a little inflammation spot on the tendon but improved. Maybe start running late next week.
Cold - a new phase, hopefully the endgame. Not as much gunk, but what there is is deeply buried. Breathless when walking.

Calf Drops 3 x 25 with 14kg, pm. Calves a bit sore tight, so pegging these back.
Cold - seems to be improving, however gunk is now green instead of the earlier yellow.

OK night bar the 4am cough fest (Anticol lozenge fixed it)

Better night (but still bad): maybe the worst of the cold is over?

To Bikeforce to get a part for the back brake. Tapering for the weekend's State Champs.
