Teering race (Autumn Classic) 1:10:07 [5] **** 10.29 km (6:49 / km)
spiked:10/15c shoes: Innov8 Mudclaw 270

Day 2 at Kenine Hill. Physically drained after yesterday and had Cath not blown out between no. 7 and 10 she would have collared me. As it was she was in the lead till 6 and catching me from 11 as I tired, particularly from 14 (see graph).

1 Missed - no attackpoint, no aiming off so turned downhill when I got to the rocks not up
2 just slow uphill
3 great downhill open leg, felt like maybe I was going to get the legs moving
4 missed a little (10 seconds?) to the left
5 slow slog up hill
6 really put in here, but Cath still ahead
7 read the rocks OK
8 same leg as yesterday
9 tricky, stumbled on it
10 straight
11 found a roo path
12 nice, open, quick leg
13 luckily relocated on a single boulder above the control
14 slog, birds sounding like SI beeps
15 ran into the area too far to the right
16 missed the best route choice - should have gone down like Cath

Teering race (Autumn Classic) 36:38 [5] *** 5.9 km (6:13 / km) +130m 5:36 / km
spiked:7/9c shoes: Innov8 Mudclaw 270

Day 1, straight line length. Turbo kicked in on full power at no. 1 and scorched around. Nearly ruined it at 6 when I went down the slope too far right and too low. Didn't really know which way to turn, but chose correctly. Probably lost around 1.5 to 2 minutes? A bit low on 8 but only lost around 20 seconds there. All in all a good run, typical of Day 1s for me - yet again won by a bigger margin on the short Day 1 course than on the longer Day 2. In fact a few I remember I got beaten on the Day 2 event but held on for the win (WA Champs 2006 by Paul Pacque, 2007 by Noel Shoknecht and 2008 by Gary Carroll).

Cycling (Floreat) 30 [4] 0.25 km (2:00 / km)

Late, so shortcut thru Perry Lakes, and had to pull back 200m on Oceanic. Still a bit of gunk from the cold, but felt good on the hills, 3rd to CGS and 3rd in sprint.

Cycling 1:26:13 [4] 42.88 km (2:01 / km)
