Teering race 1:03:02 [4] *** 9.57 km (6:35 / km) +250m 5:50 / km
spiked:6/17c shoes: Inov8 XC Talon212

Wundabinaring Brook, (Mt Observation). Scrappy early, but got motoring once the long legs started. Straight 8.1km.
1 -20s. stepped off the track and promptly got totally disorientated. However it wasn't far to the flag.
3 -30s. GPS appears to say that the hill is actually 40m west of where it is mapped. So I went 40m east of where I should have gone, plus an extra 20m to check a rock, before turning around and spotting the flag.
4 -30s. 90 seconds is too long to go 60m, even if there were a lot of rocks.
5 -1m. The GPS evidence here isn't so conclusive about that hill. This time I appeared to be following my rough compass (due north from the hill top), but somehow got dragged east.
6 Thought I did this one OK, but probably too careful through detail on the left, since Cath was only 20 seconds down having taken a really wide route to the right.
7 Very happy with this one - gambled on a vague gully run to the right and it paid off. Over 90 seconds quicker than anyone else on this leg - H1 had it too.
8 spiked it unintentionally.
9 -30s. Cath got me here by climbing out of 8. I contoured and got caught in rocks and rubbish.
10 -30s. Really bad exit from 9 - setters had put a hill next to it with an obvious way around to the right. Should have gone left.
11 Passed James Lithgow at 10 and powered away. Got the nice cliff attackpoint so spiked 11.
12 -30s. Still running hard, couldn't identify the attackpoint so overshot.
14 Can't give a time loss as I went straight to it, but Cath was quicker.
F -30s. Not reading map, veered right.
Total -4.20. Not too bad, but nowhere near good enough.

Cycling (Shelley) 2:16:00 intensity: (1:00:00 @3) + (1:00:00 @4) + (16:00 @5) 66.6 km (2:03 / km)

Riders Choice. Nasty, horrible ride, especially south of the river where the roads were really wet. A few showers, 3 degrees and gusts to 70 kmh. Bailed out rather than face Mts Bay Rd - the group was down to 15 kmh on Riverside drive and I got dropped.

Teering race (Shortz) 14:58 [5] *** 3.0 km (4:59 / km)
spiked:15/16c shoes: ASICS Gel-Bondi

Curtin Uni. Sprint Training. Nominally 2.5km. Hall of mirrors time - slowing down way too much to read the map.

Running warm up/down 12:00 [3] 2.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: ASICS Gel-Bondi

Core Stability (Pilates) 55:00 [2]
weight:74kg

Tough session inc. 3x40 single leg 5 springs on back and on side. Knee no problem at all. Muscles wasted after Reabold.

Cycling (Red Rock) 1:28:00 intensity: (1:00:00 @3) + (28:00 @4) 47.0 km (1:52 / km)

Did Mt Henry, but shortcut back from the Narrows via Parliament. Felt OK generally, but legs in bits after yesterday.

Running (Reabold) 52:10 [3] 9.1 km (5:44 / km) +350m 4:48 / km
shoes: Brooks Trance

Hilly run. Couldn't face hill intervals, so went for Reabold instead. Tried to go uphill at 5.30 or better, downhill at 6.00. Thought I found a pretty hilly route, but it was only 3.8% (I wanted IOF's 4% guideline at least).

Running warm up/down (Perry Lakes) 5:05 [3] 1.01 km (5:02 / km)
shoes: Brooks Trance

Just checking that round the lake was 1km.
