Note

Until last month, my biggest week of running plus orienteering was the first week of February 2013, with a total of 41.2 km. The totals for the last three weeks have been 41.3, 52.4, and 44.1 km respectively. Will be interesting to see if I can keep this going when back in Perth.

My longest run ever! Along the coast to Kalamaria and back. In Kalamaria there was a nice path at the top of some cliffs with great views over the Gulf of Salonika.

Had some difficulty getting up this morning after a couple of late nights. Went the other way this time into the old harbour area. Only the first few hundred metres were scenic, after that just a lot of fences and dilapidated warehouses. Turned around and did a few more kilometres in the usual direction.

Blatant copy of Rachel's session this morning, but with 90 s recoveries throughout and shorter warmup (2 km). 2 x 1 km, 5 x 1 min. Paces: 3:39, 3:42; 3:23, 3:21, 3:24, 3:23, 3:17.

Another run along the sea front. I don't have much other choice here, because the rest of the city doesn't seem very suitable for running, but the stretch along the sea is great, even in the dark. It seems like my cruising speed is starting to improve. At the end it was a bit faster than cruising though, as I couldn't contain myself, but at least I managed not to give in to the idea of running another sub-4 final kilometre.

Decided to run a bit harder again after two weeks of easy training runs. Was disappointed with the pace in the first two kilometres given the effort I was putting in, but it seems I just needed to warm up a bit first.
